I have a half inch of sag all the way around my CRD. I'm not looking to lift because I drive 40 miles each way to work. I plan on buying Bilstien struts and shocks, will there be any negative effects of using the stock springs?

Thanks!

Yes it will continue to sag more and more causing more wear and tear on your new shocks.

With the Bilstein shock all around your half way there why not just get OME spring while your at it and call it a day. You won't regret the ride quality especially if you have that long of a drive. I just did OME/Bilstein all around and love the way it rides. Compared to stock set up its night and day difference. Also 4x4 connection was having a sale on OME spring when I got mine $300 for all 4 coils. Just my opinion tho. Best of luck!

Definitely replace the springs. Thats a must!
If you go OME (Old Man Emu), you will love it. It will feel like a lift from your current ride because you are sagged below stock ride height.
You will get used to it very quickly.
Also, the lift doesn't really change too much of your gas mileage. If you keep your same tires and rims, you should be ok. Once you go with a very large tire, your rollong resistance is increased and kills your MPG.

I just ordered a set of stock fronts for my CRD and bilsteins all around. Should be installed in a week or so.

Searched our forum and Google but could not find info on stock suspension height and how to measure sag.
How is the measurement taken and what is the OEM specification?

From What I have been told and researched hight is measured from center of hub up to bottom of fender flare. For a 2006 CRD it says stock hight is 19 in front and 19.5 in rear. here is a link to the thread I found

Thank you for this very useful information!
My CRD with 113,xxx miles measures 1/4" sag at all 4 corners with original springs.
I believe it led an easy life before I bought it cruising the freeways of Florida.
