ok folks, here's a mystery....the third wiring harness, by 2 different manufacturers, has burned up on me...blowing fuse #7, which powers the left side markers, turns, tail light, and high brake light. each time it took about 2-3 weeks for the situation to occur. the first 2 were from u-haul, and the third was a different type (all plug together, vs. splice and crimp type), that i found online, very similar to the mopar harness. it was the "module" in the wiring harness that smoked each time. the config. is for a flat-type connector. and ideas/clues/answers? thanx, bob

Hmm, thats odd. I have the Draw-tite wiring and its doing fine. It plugs in to the main harness like you said yours does. Maybe the flat connector is getting shorted out or something?

Were the one that fried intalled by pulling the back side panel and put in line like the MOPAR 4 or 7 pin connectors? I would try the MOPAR connector, 4 or 7 pin to fit your needs. Sure the MOPAR ones cost more than the aftermarket but by your expperiences it is evident that the aftermarket may not know exactly how the DC boys wire up the KJ. The process of installing the MOPAR harness is simple and only took about 15 min or so if that.

This is with no trailer / other wiring attached to the harness? Is the connector properly covered/sealed from the elements? Other than that, I've got nothing, I haven't even bought my trailer harness, yet.

I would guess that one of the diodes in the control module is going bad. Even if there is nothing plugged in to it there is still power going to the circuit boards inside the module that combine the separate brake and signal lights on the KJ into single lamps on the trailer. I would try the MOPAR one.
