I have been reading loads of your info and it has helped me out a lot, driving a CRD, carried out a few of the mods and started to trick it out a bit, bumper, shocks, springs, lights, the normal stuff to an excited new Off roader, love getting deeper into the woods without hiking
Done my own timing belt, but I think my head gasket has gone, coolant I disappearing but I see not real leaks, just wondering what the head gasket replacement is like, its a shame it did not go 8000k ago as I did the belt then.
I was a tech so getting on with it is no ordeal, just not much experience on diesels.

Welcome to LOST and as far as loosing coolant buy yourself or rent a coolant system pressure tester. Easiest way to find leaks and also easiest way to check the head gasket. But if you test your cap and everything but still can't find a leak but still have pressure under the cap after sitting over night yep your head gasket is probably blown. And replacing it is basically the timing belt change plus removing the head getting everything together and deciding what to replace along the way. Like rockers glow plugs to swap to the ARP head studs or not?

Belt was done, glow plugs done, glow plug programming update done,MAF disconnected. Air box mod done, OME suspension done, oil cooler replaced (not factory due to cost), thermostat mod done, now I guess I have to do the head gasket, which means doing the belt again. Don't see the point of the head studs over bolt as I don't think I want to be regularly taking the head off
