I've searched and can't find anything on the procedure and/or how hard it is to replace. The stud looks easy enough to unbolt from the top of the pumpkin bracket, but what about getting the body of the joint out of the upper tri-link?? I haven't given it a real great look but from afar it looks like it will be too large for my ball joint press, but I could be wrong??

Are people pressing these in and out with ball joint presses?? I was thinking maybe bang it out with an air chisel and then figure out how to get the new one in....

Thanx in advance!

Can be hard to replace, since too much pressure and the tri link itself may bend some
Some folks have had success , others have just bought the new tri-link
I'm going to try and press mine out on a spare tri-link I have tomorrow
will let you know how it goes

thanx, keep me posted! Where did you get a spare?

I see the entire assembly on rock auto from mevotech and raybestos for 115-125....tempting. Are they any good?

Not worth buying those
the joints are Chinese junk, they don't last long
I have I think 3 maybe 4 Tri-Links laying around.
Pick them up when buying other parts, hate to be without spares of everything
But one of them has a bad joint/bushings in it and I have 2 replacement sets so thought I'd give it a shot to see how they'll work

What about the crown setups or would you only buy from mopar? Mine has about 140k own it and is a little worn but not horrible yet. Also is it worth rebuilding these or have they been updating them thought the years?

tommudd, how did it go?? If I were to just replace the part is it as easy as just pressing a ball joint out and a new one in??

I've just learned that I have to replace the rear boomerang on mine, and I was just looking at the Raybestos and Mevotech as well, bu tif the joints are junk then its a false economy. So - I assume Mopar are the best way to go?

I'm surprised mine has gone - I've only done 56k and I have had the OME lift on for about a year. Still - things wear out!
