I promise everyone that soon (hopefully this weekend) I will write an entire thread dedicated to this, but today I had Cragar soft 8's put on the Jeep. She's almost done, just a few minor things here and there. Here is just a teaser pic for now though. New wheels, Atthehelm's steel bumpers, and hand painted fenders. Did I mention I was in Germany?
Again, I will go into great detail about what it took to get her here. This project was four years in the making.

Looks really good with the two tone(renegade style) paint and those bumpers. What kind of backspacing do you have with those soft 8's and do you have any rubbing? I'm thinking of going to those when I go up in tire size.
Atthehelm's bumpers look great too. The approach and departure angles look improved.
The backspacing for those rims is 5" I believe. With the stock sport wheels I experienced slight to moderate rub at full lock left and right. After I bought and had the new wheels installed the rubbing was eliminated completely. Not to mention the set was $350ish from summit racing, and they look awesome. I am completely satisfied with my wheel and tire set up. They stick out a little more as well and give it a more aggressive look. When I post my build thread I will include ample pictures so you can see what they look like from the front and rear.
Now that you mentioned it, The Renegade edition of the CJs were always my dream Jeeps. I may have to "Renegade" on the hood....
As far as Atthehelm's bumpers go, I could not be happier with the outcome. Morgan (Atthehelm) was super easy to work with, answered any (dumb) questions I had and even thought of a way to cut the ends off the bumpers so they would not exceed USPS weight restrictions and could be shipped to my APO box in Germany. His customer service was absolutely outstanding and exceeded any expectations I had working through the bumper project.
Bmxer524 - I would love to get my hands on a CRD engine. While vacationing to Berlin a few weeks ago, a Wrangler drove by and I could distinctly hear the clack-clack-clack of that big beautiful CRD engine. Gave me the chills.
Gageraid - I really appreciate it. Those plans are in the works, but not at the top of the list ( behind skid plates and mounting my Hi lift)
