04 looks lifted. 05 has manual which is a plus to me.

Hmmm then it's a sagged out lift but it cold be. It also has a light bar on the bumper and switches on the dash.

I really like the manual too

Personally I'd go for the 04
less crap on the 02-04s than when you get into the stuff they planted on the 05s and up. Of course I don't like ABS / stability control and all the other stuff. PLUS the fact they have way more issues with the windows etc
The 04 is advertised as a Sport which it clearly isn't as well, not Sport flares.
If the 04 has red springs more than likely a Skyjacker lift, they do sag quickly since the spring rate is the same as stock . Rear springs stay pretty good but fronts go south fast. Just upgrade the front and have a decent lift

Auto would be nicer for long drives, and you'll prob swap out the suspension on which ever one you get anyhow.

Agreed the auto would be nice. I've got a think for manuals. Good thought about the suspension. My old KJ was an 05 I never really had a problem with it

Or this awesome JK!

Ripped the HP 30 apart last night.. I was surprised how clean it was inside just due to how awful the gear oil was inside and the person I bought it from said it sat out on a pallet for a year..
It indeed does have 3.55's..

All torn apart and ready for cleaning and seal replacement!

I'm gonna get my wire wheel out and get all the surface rust taken care of on the outside. Then give it a nice coat of fresh paint..

jeeper 'go with the blue KJ moose' 4life

This is one Nick would love

honestly i would have to see them but if you can afford the jk then i would go with it and repaint it :P

as for the KJs, i know they changed a lot in 05 but i love my 05. I thought they did something to the motor too to help fuel economy but i could be wrong.

The 04 looks like someone took care of it or at least cared for it. My advice is go drive them both and see which one you like better

lighter weight oil to try and wring out an extra 1/10 of a mile was about it really
I'll match my heavy piglet against a gas 05-6-7 any day
Unless the 04 has the optional ABS etc brakes will last longer, better mileage etc
If you need ABS then you can't drive

My jeep doesn't have abs now lol oh well

The JK is sweet but I would need about $4000 to make up the difference. I talked to my dealee friend Jeff, he works where the red KJ is and I get an exclusive look at the jeep tomorrow
