My rear lift-glass rattles even over the slightest of bumps. Has anybody experienced this and how is it fixed?

Buy mud-terrain tires so the whirling sound drowns out the rattle.

If rattle more than likely its the spare tire / bracket. remove the tire and drive see if that takes care of it or not first. Easy to do and check
or if squeak more than likely its the window rubbing on the rubber around it, easy fix as well

The Service Manual states: "adjust the latch to obtain best glass fit" but they do not state where to adjust it.

One has to assume that the Lift Glass Latch can be shifted a bit in or out to get the tightest window fit.

I have heard of owners removing the latch bar on the glass, fit two washers as spacers, refit the bar. :?

I just fixed a rattle from the rear glass by moving the latch.
Pop off the top edge of the gate's inside plastic cover by pulling up and towards you. You don't need to remove the whole thing. You'll see where the latch is bolted to the gate. Scribe some lines all around the edges of the latch to mark where it was, then loosen the two 13mm nuts that hold the latch down. Slide it inward (what would be toward the front of the vehicle) and tighten back down. I only moved mine about 2mm. I'll see how long it's quiet.
