I asked a couple months ago if i should buy the daystar spacer lift and was told not to. so i have been doing some research and found the kk rockfather lift for $469
http://www.rocky-road.com/jeep-liberty-lift-kit-kk.html
also i was wondering how much lift do you get from OME springs on a KK. they say 1.5 inches but i think i saw people claiming 2 or 3
http://www.arbusa.com/Vehicle/2010-jeep-liberty-kk.aspx
really dont want to spend more than 500 on the lift so i can still afford tires afterwards (problem of being a poor college student lol)

Dude, you're about halfway there. OME is the way to go but the RRO lift has their junk in the rear. Also, the front set-up isn't very good from what I hear. There isn't much from RRO that's any good and for an example of their warranty, people have trashed their indestructible sliders and nothing, no money back or replacement sliders. Once ou get their parts and realize you don't like them it's too late. You'll probably end up doing what I did and buy a good lift after wasting money on their junk. Liberty's are expensive to modify, that's just the way it is. Jeepin By Al is probably the best place to get your parts from. If anything should go wrong, you can count on them to make it right. You'll want a srt of Al's a arms too, for alignment purposes but you might be able to do without them for awhile. :JEEPIN:

My 927s, 1/4" spacer plate, and 3/8" clevis up front with 731s and 2 extra rear isos per side in back got me around 3" or so from factory height.

Definitely go the full spring/shock and avoid RRO. Have nothing personal, but heard way too many horror stories about them. Going with the spacer plate and/or clevis would depend on how high you want to go. Also getting a-arms would be more necessary the higher you go. I think I was around 1200-1300 for everything shipped. That's 4 OME springs, 4 Bilstein shocks, the top plates, a-arms, bump stops etc. The whole 9 yards basically. So cheaper is possible, just slightly less height.

What they said above
Don't be scared but what you would buy from RRO at that price would not last. Buying a quality kit lasts longer, rides better and you'll enjoy your KK more on and off road
You can do it in steps
OME kit 4 springs/4 shocks 750-775
then you can add after market JeepinByAl arms later and even more lift
Better to do it right the first time than have to do it twice

going to go with the springs. only looking for 2-3 inches of lift so i can go to a 245/75/16 tire. so would need a arms for that height

If you're asking....for 2" probably not. I went about 2 years on the stock A arms with about 2" of lift. I upgraded to the JBA ones when my ball joints wore out. Never had any coil contact or alignment issues. But the driveability did improve a bit with the JBA arms.
