Considering how hard the EGR coolant hoses are to get to, I figured that I would change them out while replacing the glow plugs and rocker arms.
Are the made of some kind of high heat rubber/gold?
They are almost $50 each from the dealer and $35 online :dizzy:

Mine were leaking and I changed it with High temp high pressure fuel injection line. It is about $5 per foot locally but the size I had fit perfectly. I had it laying around from an old veggie car project. On my 2005 Mercedes E320 CDI diesel I blocked off the EGR and changed the route of the heater hoses and they no longer go to the EGR. They now heat my grease system.

My point is consider options to the factory hose.

They are nothing special just regular heater hose with XX ID. Any heater or fuel hose of the same ID will do fine although you may have to get a bit extra to avoid a kink unless you can find a hose or hose segment with a similar bend.

Of course if you have a GDE tune then per Keith you don't need to EGR cooler and can bypass it entirely and forget about those hoses. See viewtopic.php?f=5&t=75401&p=792398#p792398
