Yes, $17,500 for a CRD with 140K miles. I'm facing a choice of going back to work part-time or parting with some of my goods. If this guy gets anywhere near 17k for this thing, I'm going to pay a young mormon family to stand out in front of mine and use the pic in my ad. . . "we're 'nice' people seems to be the primary selling point.

In relation to many people of this board, I really don't know very much. Compared to seller #1 and most of the people who listed CRD's on this local tv station owned classifieds, I feel quite knowledgeable.

Seller #2, I'd raise your price by about $2k. Then, you'd probably get your 12k. I bet seller #1 gets over $14k.

Well, for somebody that spells touareg as touarage and poses with the cars hoping it touches a sensitive side in some buyers, I'm surprised they only ask for 17500... A hot chick in swimming suit on the other hand, could justify few grands more in price, lol.

When I first started looking for a CRD in the spring, I found one 5 minutes from my house listed for $16000. it was an '06 Sport with 58k miles. I walked into the dealer and offered him $12800. He didn't accept of course so I continued looking for another 3 months and found a '06 Limited with 42k miles listed for $15500. Obviously the Limited was a much better deal, 16k less miles, tow package and the trim package. I went back to the guy with the sport, showed him the Limited I had found with 16000 less miles and offered $12800 again. I told him if he did not accept I was driving to get the other one. NOPE. So I offered the dealer with the Limited $14500 and they accepted $14750.

Moral of the story is, 42k miles on one of these is probably about as low as you will find(I did see a guy bought one the other day with like 25k) and dealers are only getting $14750. Private sale will be less. I doubt #2 will get $12000 with over 100k miles.
