I too have an AFE Proguard 7. Working in the diesel industry you see stuff from the sales side. This version of the AFE filters is available on many Dodge, Ford and GM applications. If it is good enough for the mid-size trucks, it is good enough for Thumper. The key is to select the one for the 3.7 Liter Liberty. That is if the information on the website still does not include the 2.8 Liter engine as an option.

It is dirty currently and I bought a Pure One recently for temp use.

Using the AFE Proguard 7 as well now, although I used the Wix one before.

I think it should be 42329, right? The 43629 is a cylinder shape.

I may be crazy, but I installed my ProGuard7 yesterday during my lunch break and the motor seems pretty happy.

The ProGuard7 is now list for the CRD as well as the 3.7L

Your not crazy...anytime a new air filter is installed these CRD react in a good way. For sure cleaner is better. I clean my K&N every 5k during my oil changes. Always runs better.

I run a K&N in the CRD. I just clean it every oil change and only use a light dusting of oil on it. I also run a k&n on my 05 evo. Put it in with 10 miles on the car and it now has 53k.

Only issue I have ever seen with a K&N was it killing a Maf. That was due to the person using to much oil on the filter.

NAPA gold is Wix, and has more pleats than FRAM.
