Just to chime in late, since my company works with parking garages...

New garages are currently being fitted with SUVs in mind where the lower floors have a 10 to 12 foot clearance. Most facilitys charge a premium (up to 20 dollars per day extra in NYC) to park there.

Most all garages have ballards that show the clearance of the lowest point of the garage on entry...if you hit that on the way in, I would suggest parking elsewhere. As for the Renegage...I scrape most of these on the way in to locations and have the yellow paint on the roof rack to prove it ;)

Personally, I would not suggest a lift if you frequent many garages.

Most of our garages in Louisville are okay...the main problems deal with the garages in citys that go under large buildings, as they limit height to increase the number of floors down they can have. It is not uncommon to see a 6'6" to 6'8" clearance in some of these...

Gotta remember, most garages were built before the SUV was even a thing...and pickups were for farmers ;)

i'm always super cautious when pulling into the under grounds... i've actually knicked my light bar on a pipe before when coming up a ramp from lower levels. Now i pull in with the sunroof open just to keep a closer eye on things

I have been extremely cautious as well... But I tend to think it has something to do with only having owned my Renegade for just under 72 hours! heh heh
I park 3 floors down in my condo building and spend more time looking up then ahead when pulling into the garage...
