Just got the lift on the ol'08. Biggest problem I ran into was the front sway bars. Just for the life of me couldn't line them up right. Long story short the pass side is stripped about half way in. Anyone know where I can get a new bolt and any tricks to getting it in straight. Or even how does it drive without the front sway bar attatched

Next time try raising or lowering the opposing lower a arm after one side is bolted in. Cant remember if you want it higher or lower though. Also the entire sway bar can be rotated downward to help line both sides up.

Driver side went in no problem but the pass just would not line up. I got like a 1/4 inch or so of thread left but im just afraid to turn it anymore without snapping it. As of right not i have a makeshift bushing to keep it from moving. Drives fine any everything. Ill probably just have to pull it out, clean the lower control arm threads and buy a new bolt to put in it.

I just disconnected mine completely. Wired it up out of the way till I can get a chance to remove the whole swaybar.

It honestly seems to drive better without it. I don't drive like a Tokyo drift moron so I just appreciate how the suspension articulates through curb gutters and driveways without being tossed around.

Try it!
Don't be shy.

Be careful, you can get by for a little while around town but when you have a take an evasive maneuver to avoid something look out. Then no sway bar insurance will be walking away from you. Don't run without it

Well got it all fixed now. Had to end up going with a slightly smaller bolt and runnit through to a nut. Still have a slight clunk noise up front on compression and flex. I'm hoping its just a lack of front bump stops and it bottoming out. Only clunks on big speed bumps at speed. No noise or anything if I'm going slow.

That clunk is probably from the play caused by using the smaller diameter bolt on your sway bar link

That clunk was there before that as well. It only happens on larger humps at a decent speed. At slow speed I don't get anything no matter what angle or how much i turn. Before when the sway bar was loose i could hear it all the time changing angles and turning, along with that clunk at higher speeds. Its nothing major, just slight. I'm just guessing with a lack on proper bump stops I am bottoming out

What do you mean by "higher speeds" cuz I'll guarantee you aren't bottoming out the suspension going greater than 25MPH unless you are jumping buses like evel knievel or the "large humps" you are talking about are real big speed bumps that you shouldn't be flying over anyways

Pretty much that, I'm in a new town and there are a few that snuck up on me. Or even a few ins and outs at stores/roads I turn onto to fast.

Probably your A-arms hitting your springs. Happens to me too even though I have Al's arms

That's a good point I hadn't even thought about. I havent gotten the a-arms yet till my balljoints go bad. My align is in besides the caster so ill be good till I can get them. Plus I hate my tires so its 2 birds with 1 stone if stuff wares out. Its in too good of shape for me to justtify to my wife to get tires and a-arms. I'm going to get bumpstops this weekend and go from there.
