Looks great. Have you had a chance to break them in?

They'll get a workout this Saturday! I just did a flex test and discovered that I will definitely have to remove the 1.5" wheel spacers. They cause the tire to contact the front edge of the front fender-well during turning, and trimming for clearance would have to be drastic. I'll re-evaluate tonight after getting the spacers off.

The Moab rims have been known to give good stuffage alone, so I can imagine the spacers are unnecessary. I plan on trimming my front bumper some more, around the foglight area? Is this what you plan on doing for ground clearance up front? We could do it together...(note: I'm scared!)

That looks good. Don't the Moab wheels have 4.5" back spacing? How big are the spacers?

No I think stock Limited and Sport wheels are 16x7, 5.25" BS, and the Moabs are only supposed to be 16x7 5.0" BS if I remember correctly. The spacers probably brought it out another inch at least, I'm guessing, probably around 1.5-2.5" total from stock Limited rim spacing, depending on how thick the spacers are.

Moabs are 8" wide rims. That alone gives you a bit more agressive stance. And then I believe they have .25" less back spacing than stock.

.25"? Is that all it needs to help rubbing? Or does the 8 inch rim move the tires centerline out enough to help the rubbing?

Summary:

Stock rims - 17x7, 5.5" BS
Moabs - 16x8, 4.5" BS
the spacers I just took off - 1.5"

I'm just barely getting a rub on the fenderwell behind the fog light now. I'm thinking I won't even cut it out. I'm looking forward to getting a high-clearance bumper eventually, so that'll take care of the clearances in the end.

RespectML - I wouldn't mind helping you trim yours out. I've done several Grand Cherokees and the fenders on my TJ.

If the Moab rims are 4.5" BS that's news to me. After doing a bit of research I am fairly certain they are 5.0" BS. Stock Liberty is 5.5" so the Moabs have .5" more offset and are 1" wider.

Do you have a dremel or something that cuts more cleanly than what I have access to, a Milwaukee Sawzall?

You could be right, I'll measure again tonight. I had to eyeball the tape becasue those rims are mounted now. So, assuming .5" more BS and 1" more width, the outside edge is 1.5" wider on each side -> 3" track-width increase.

Yeah, I've got access to a Dremel, but I also like the cuts made by carpet knives.
