Curious if anyone has done this (not 'had it done', but done it themselves)? The Jeep manual says it's a sealed system, and indeed the factory setup appears to be sealed, as there's no bleeder, and the line to the cylinders looks like it's not meant to be removed (although there's a small cotter pin holding the line to the cylinders, and I'm guessing an internal o-ring of some sort...). However, in addition to selling a complete sealed setup, NAPA also sells the slave and master cylinders separately. Is this system replaceable by individual components? If so, how would you get the inevitable air out of the system?

Buy the sealed OEM system,no way to bleed the air.

Yeah, I'm inclined to do that since I don't really know if it's my master or the slave giving me trouble anyways. But I'm still curious why NAPA would bother to sell each piece individually if you could never bleed the system correctly? It's quite a bit cheaper to buy the two pieces, versus the sealed system, BTW...

Also, still curious to hear of anyone's firsathand experience doing this...the master cylinder looks like it's in just about the worst spot it could possibly be located on the vehicle...I'm assuming I need to pull the main harness and the ECU assembly out of the way to get access to the master? Or is there a better way to do it?

On Rockauto they sell just the slave cylinder and have a guide on how to bleed it, I'm not sure I believe all that's instructed in the jeep master repair manual - They say that the flywheel can't be machined due the curve built into it but I just picked up a like new flywheel from a 2002 kj and the flywheel is flat as a pancake.
