Hello All,

I am having a bit of a hard time looking for a complete, and running, 2.8L CRD motor. The motor in my Liberty is locked up, and with 153k on the clock, its not really worth trying to fix it. I would like to buy a complete motor with turbo. Anybody have one? Or can you tell me where to source one? I am in the Tampa, FL area, but I will pay for shipping or pick up too.

Any help would be appreciated, I need to get this thing back on the road.

Thanks!

Nick

Thanks, I did see them. I would rather buy from someone here that pulled the motor or did work on it themselves. I get a bit concerned buying something like a motor on Ebay without knowing anything about what it came out of...

Your going to be better off just rebuilding yours. That way when its done and rebuilt you now what your getting. You will be starting off with a fresh bottom end and head. Buying a used engine you will never know how it was taken car of.

I considered that, but, since mine blew a head gasket and sucked in all of the coolant, everything is trashed from no oil. I already pulled it apart, it's junk. To rebuild it top to bottom would cost a lot due to all the parts needed. So my best bet a complete motor or long block...

If you have a friend that is a car dealer, you can buy a very cheap crashed crd from copart.com. I think you can also register with them but you may need a dealer license. I saw crds there for couple thousands, roll over, rear end smashed, etc. This route, if you can use it, would save you lots of money.
