I'm on hiway more than I am off road in my "04" Libby (for now). I what to lift and be able to go play, but for right now it is for more of that beefy look. Daystar full spacer kit pros and cons. BDS any comments? Rough Country any comments? I've heard alot about the Frankenlift vs Rusty's, I 've got some knowledge about lifting( I lifed my "87" xj with basic tools) I just don't want to get into it and end up trailering it to the nearest 4x4 place in parts to fix my problems. I know that is hard to answer until I do it , may run smooth or may run into snags. Spacer kit level of knowledge to install?
Any lift you install will be about the same as far as installation. If you get a spacer or Suspension lift, you will have to disassemble and reassemble the front assembly, unless you buy the Frankenlift, b/c it already is preassembled from them. All-J's has a PDF of the 4WD&SUV article on the install, and all will be similar with exception to putting together the front assembly. Daystar is probably the best spacer lift out there. If you only want a spacer, go with that, but the ride will be a bit stiffer (adding more preload to the springs) than a suspension lift. Even if you dont wheel much now, you probably will later on, and end up upgrading again. If you can foot the bill, get the Frankenlift, the highway ride is way better than the stock configuration, not to mention you will have the best available. Do a search on any of those lifts above, and you will find much discussion, this topic has been covered 100's of times.
