3 Questions:
1) what type of fluid/oil do you use when changing for a Manual Trans
2) how often should it be changed?
3) how complicated is it?
I know automatics are simple with a drain plug and fill, but what about a manual?

What year, and engine size are you running? There is a drain and fill plug on the manual. The 6speeds use a special synthetic fluid IIRC. Seems to me its 30k or 60k for service. The 5speeds I would have to look up.

I have a 2003 KJ renegade 5spd man.
140K miles

I have had all my fluids changed before but never specified about the trans so I figured it was worth asking.

4.9 pints of syncromesh, I could only put 4 pints into mine.

Make sure you can get the fill plug out before you remove the drain plug, it's a large hex key-not sure the of the size. Both the fill and drain plugs are the same size.

You will have to pump the fluid up to the fill hole.

With the nsg 370 6 speed, the drain and fill plugs are actually a different size (at least it is with mine). As stated, MAKE SURE to remove fill plug first just to make sure you can get it out before draining. Penzoil sells a syncromesh that is mopar approved.

Thanks for the info.
I am going to end up taking it to my mechanic since it is not leaking orange fluid from what looks like that steering pump.
I live in an apartment so I don't have the ease of a garage and driveway.

Thank you all though. The education as helpful.
