I contacted Rock lizard sometime ago about a whole host of items for my liberty. After lots of talking with Martin I bought a back bumper and other items coming to a total of roughly $2500 After getting everything payed for manufacturing started (I hope) but since paying for my items it has been increasingly difficult to reach them and as of late, not return e-mails or phone calls of any kind
Has anyone heard if they are having problems or are still in business? I would like to receive my items or at least get my money back. Thanks

Ken

Never have any issues, they are busy and don't answer right away but always do within a very short time frame

please check over on JeepKJ of all the folks who recently bought and have their products.
I like the fact folks who never bought, never dealt with RL seem to know so much

To the OP since you listed no time line, what products you ordered etc hard to say if you have an issue or not. RL makes products in groups so making maybe 5-10 sets at a time of rails so maybe able to ship them out right away where may have to wait on a bumper to fall into the line up of the next scheduled making of them.

Tom probably knows the most about Rock lizard and I'd trust his opinion. I'm not sure how many employees they have but the fact that they only take orders during certain times means that they are doing their best to fulfill orders in a timely manner. Tom I'm sure you know the owner or have a contact the OP could call.

History is repeating.
Now let's see if posting on here has the mysterious effect of you being contacted by Marty.

Funny since no one knows for sure yet if and when initial contact was made
was it a week or a month ago, like mentioned they build parts in line, so many bumpers , so many rock rails etc to make it easier than jumping back and forth.
So until we hear more from the OP I think it is a little premature to say its " history repeating itself"
I suggest the OP look over on JeepKJ and the posts recently submitted there

First I will say Marty has been great to deal with, just frustrating at times of the lack of communication and since a size able amount of money was spent, I was getting nervous.
Roughly two month had gone by with no word (and a few emails by me) and the items have been paid for since June and thus my question on this board and my concern. I recently tried calling, but only got an answering machine. However, I did leave a message.

I did just hear from Marty and he hopes to be sending out the material as they are complete. I want to make sure that I'm clear that Martin has been great to deal with and very helpful, just hard to reach at times.
The items I bought were sliders, tank guard, sport rack, shackles and rear bumper.
So, my next post maybe help with installing these items. Thanks for the insight.....

Ken

To anyone wanting to know about Rock Lizard just use the search and read. When reading take note of the people defending RL constantly, mainly people that know him personally, and the people that jump in to give negative feedback without having ordered anything. What is left is all you need to know.
I have a rear bumper and roof rack. Both are great craftsmanship in regards to design and welds. The problems I have are in the details. Roof rack had misaligned holes. From what I hear that's a non issue now. On the rear bumper both grease fittings fell out on the first time I greased them. When I went to tap the hole for better fittings I notices they were installed behind the bearing races. Eventually I will have to take apart and remove races and weld grease fitting holes shut and drill and tap new ones a little lower. To me RL skipped on the little details.
Knowing what I went through to get my stuff I would think twice before ordering until you do your research. Hopefully things have or will change but every time a new thread gets posted it ends the same way.

Months without coming on lost and if course this is at the top of the list of topics... You would think it would almost be a mute point by now or actually off limits to post about, but hell I'm not for censoring content either. In my experience which some (yes I'm talking about you cherry) would say isn't worth a lick, it is always better to deal with your problems yourself. Don't come here to bash or gripe about so and so, send whatever sentiment you have straight to mentioned. OP I know that you didn't come on here to complain or disgrace in anyway, but the moment people see RL in any topic those people all come out of the woodwork. In such a small community where most jeepers do not respect the liberty, I would think more people would think twice before trying to drive away one of our only reputable sources of parts. Just my .02 night all

I did spend money on RL. So first hand experience. I will always make known problems with RL to any future customers. And how do you know if I've had any PM to and from any others?
Respected Vendor or just a vendor.

Every side has two stories
sometimes they sort of mirror one another with slightly different versions but same ending
other times its like you're reading two completely different novels
Also like TJKJ stated RL was shut down over the holidays like several other companies

NOW............to the OP if you need any help with installation
I along with some others have installed most everything that RL sells
we'll help you out
