I was changing my brake pads today and noticed the dust boots on the lbjs were cracked and ripped up. I had the original recall done way back when it came out. Would they replace them again under the recall or am I SOL and need to pay for it?

Just ask the dealer, glad for you i they do ist for free, otherwise i recommend the MOOG LBJ´s. They are also greasable. I´ve built them at 100k miles in my KJ and now i´m waiting at which miles they are done...

bye,
samse

if the dealer says no, will you be replacing them yourself? My recalled LBJs were shot as well. I replaced them with the Moogs a few weeks ago.

I replaced mine the first go around, dealer didn't, never asked for a refund.
It was an upgrade so figured why go through the hassle

Question on the Moogs? Once pressed in, the bottom lip should be completly flush with the knuckle yes? Reason I ask is I had a hell of a time getting them pressed flush, even with my large bj press.

I've read on a few different forums that dealer will replace them as many times as it takes. I dont know how true that is, so if anyone knows for certain I'd like to know as well
