I have new OME struts & springs to install on my '05 Liberty CRD.
145,000 miles on it so some preventative maintenance is in order.
Should I go ahead and replace the bushings and ball joints while I'm into this project?

Thanks,

Tom

yes for the balljoints if they are worn any, for lowers replace with Moog greaseables. Are you upper control arms stock? If so, ditch them and get Jeepin By Al's which takes care of UBJs and bushings also. As for LCA bushings, my lower bushings were fine at 127,000. It is too easy not to replace anything worn while doing you lift install. Do your CVs and intermediate shaft if they are worn and axle seals too .

I just did a replacement on my 05 due to a low ride bounce and noise everytime I hit a bump in the road. I didn't replace the tie rod ends because the boots were good and the unit swiveled well. I wanted to share a couple hints I found.
You need to take off the caliper and rotor, and unbolt the upper ball joint fro the knuckle and swivel the upper arm up. No need to unbolt the tie rod end or sway bar. I unbolted the upper clevis bolt, then the lower. Unbolt the four anchors inside the engine bay and then use a socket or something inside the space of the upper clevis bolt space and bolt in a torque the bolt from the wrong side. This will force the celvis opening open a little and you can separate the coil tower and remove it.

Spreading the clevis is tricky, some have been broken by people doing that, plus no need to do it
Unbolting the sway bar makes it a whole lot easier to install
