Still alive over here in Michigan City. The white outs was WILD to say the least. I was going over I94 on Highway 421 around the same time the big accident happened. I could barely see the front of the KJ and could only go about 10 mph. About a mile away was where the big pileup happened.

I was on the phone with the Old People early this week and said the five day forecast didn't show it getting out of single digits until the weekend. Then I saw the forecast for next week...

Hey, pitchers & catchers report to Tribe Spring Training in 17 days! It'll be warm! :D

In Arizona... :(

So recently I heard this noise coming from the garage, where my furnace is located. I checked it out and noticed it was some kinda water pump that was running and running. Got on the inter web and researched things a bit. Found out it was pump that moves condensation water. They are used when there is no near by drain to get rid of it. Its the copper line you see in the photo. Well I traced it and it goes up in the attic and towards the back of the house. I couldn't trace where it ends because it runs under insolation. I mean I could of but I didn't feel like slipping and falling thru the celling at 10 at night. I'm thinking the line may be frozen, that or just clogged, as it was also spilling water out of the drain pan because it couldn't pump the water anywhere. So for the time being I have just been routing it to this bucket since it really doesn't produce that much water.
Image
Now my question is, this outside A/C unit that only gets used in the summer, it doesn't use that dump water for anything does it? The copper line doesn't look like it goes in the direction of the unit out back but I don't know for sure as maybe it bends somewhere under the insolation and down to it. We have been only using the heat and so far with this set up everything has been getting along fine. However when I switch it over to a/c if the line is still jacked up and I end up routing it else where I don't want to run something dry that needs the water..
Image

thanks for any help guys!

It seems what you have is a condensing furnace. The water is a product of combustion within your furnace. It's removing more heat from the gas and the exhaust isn't hot enough to carry the moisture out the flue pipe as steam. That said, you can run it to any drain and it'll be fine. I've never seen one with copper before, usually it's clear plastic.

Cool, thanks man! I just didn't know if it was part of the A/C system, as in it needed the water to run...

A lot of a/c air handlers have a condensation drain pump as well

They pull double duty on a system like that.

Hope and pray you do not get what I have. I first got sick on New Year's Day and am still coughing. Name a symptom and I've had it. (Except for priapism.) I finally went to the emergency room two days ago on my doctor's advice because he was swamped and said he had no hope of getting me in any time soon. I didn't bother to shave when I first got sick and now have a full beard which has been trimmed twice already. I have had NOT ONE healthy day so far in 2014. :grim: :dead:

Tom, if you make it and I don't, see that my Jeep gets a loving home. She's a good little Jeep and deserves to be taken care of by a good person. :(

I'm not sick, yet. But the cold weather had me replacing another busted waterline in my outlaw's house. While in that 110yr old dungeon I got dirt in my eye and scratched my cornea pretty good. Off work last night and tonight.

Urgent care put dye in my eye and nothing came out. Its slowly getting better. Funny thing, the dye went down behind my eye and into my nasal passage and when my nose gets runny my snot is bright fluorescent yellow/green. Lol.

Mine has been fantastic since we worked on it! The only thumping noise now is the tailgate which I think has something loose. I should be able to fix that when some of this snow melts halfway through spring.

My next step will be to fake my own death, let Tom do all the upgrades, then show up at his house to reclaim my Jeep. This may be the most brilliant idea I have ever had! :ROTFL:
