don't waste your money. replace the bearings with 203 Timken bearings. They will last longer than OEM and will cost you a 1/3 of the OEMs. here is a thread to do that. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=76128

Nice. I wish some one had the 203SS them in stock. I will rebuild the old ones.

thanks

I got them from my local O'reilly, if you are not in a hurry you will get them a bit cheaper on the internet.

I needed them ASAP. I kept the old ones. They are the same as you Repaired. But the new OEM ones are different, they look a lot better than the Crappy Crown MFG. I will never use Crown in anything again. My Tensioner is crown. Wonder if I can rebuild it? Its hard to remove the attach pulley bolt.

Thanks
KJJET

Installed new serpentine belt idler pulleys again, installed new #2 glow plug again. Replaced the ASD relay. It powers the Glow Plug module upon turning the key.

So was it the AA or AC, or did it even matter?

Obviously you did not like or (Hated) the CRD? :ROTFL:

Good luck with the TDI, I have owned a couple, and would not be hesitant to get a 3rd.

Good luck to you! I have a 2012 Jetta TDI RawTec exhaust Malone tuned. Now a 2011 Jetta TDI. I will have a new exhaust and tune within a short wile.

The Jeep served me OK. But with owning a Ford Sport Trac another 4 wheel drive was not needed. Got rid of the trouble one.

Best Regards,
KJJET

:ROTFL: But honestly, that's a good thread, we should ask sir Sam to include it in the noob guide.

Your right, it was correct even if it was more involving. it would be a good write up.

Spent time explaining to my OH that I really really wanted to keep my Jeep despite in the last 18 months having to do the following, bearing in mind it's only done 80k:

New automatic transmission £2900+ (after breakdown) not including 14 days of car hire
New battery £100 (after breakdown)
New belt tensioner and belt £400 (after breakdown) not including 4 days of car hire
2 MOT's and 2 Services including timing chain replacement, brake systems and ancillary bits and pieces £900+
2 lots of car tax £570
2 new rear light clusters £50 secondhand (after my daughter reversed it into 'something')

So why do I want to keep it - cos it's my JEEP!!!!! and I'll never get back the money I've spent on it.

Not so great news. I think I lost the torque converter. I have 120k on it now.
Purchased in 10/13 with 114k. Did a timing belt and oil and fuel filter change the same month.
Runs great. Shifted good.

While driving last night from a stop light accelerating to 45 mph engine revved high to redline with a loud pop sound.
Pulled to the side. Turned the flashers on. Will idle like normal but with a high pitch hum.
It will not move on its own power. Forward or reverse it doesn't move.

Had it towed to the house. I have read many post about the torque converter failing but I don't know what it sounds or feels like.
What else might it be. And how much damage might have been done?

I am torn on which converter I should order. Euro or suncoast. I was hoping to order a gde tune soon. Sounds like both will be fine with an eco tune.

I found the timing belt really easy. Is the torque converter change any more difficult?
