My friend's 09 KK with the Rock Krawler 3.5" kit sits lower than mine with the OME/Bilstein econo lift for 3.5". I'm around 33k miles(5k or so on my lift) I think her's is at 65ish. So I can't say her springs wore out prematurely, but we can both accept stock is garbage and sags way too quickly.

On that system, you get front forks and rear spacers. The rear tends to hold itself "alright" and maybe 1/2" lower, but front is atleast an inch or so lower than mine. Atleast with a full spring lift I won't ever sit that low. I guess my point is that you never get the advertised height of a spacer lift because the springs sag too much/too quick.

And as far as the civic remark ,that was pathetic and childish.......

I'm not getting involved on all these name callings or anything here....BUT, Ironman and OME lifts give over 1.5" of lift. Ironman gets a little over 2" and OME(with the right springs) can get about 2.5" or so. That said, you can get OME springs and Bilstein shocks for about $700-750 shipped to your door. Alignment is less than $100(can be free if you already have the firestone liftetime alignment). Forgot to add install is pretty easy and you can always do that yourself, if not, you'd have to add install price. With that said, you won't fit 265/75-16s(32s) on less than about 4" of lift with out rubbing and having to do some trimming. That's both with a KJ and a KK. My KK on 3.5" of lift MIGHT clear 265/75-16s, but it would be tight and I might have to pound the pinch weld and/or do some work in the wells.

Moving on. It's your Jeep, your lift. Do as you please. If the spacer lift works for you then so be it. Keep an eye on things and be safe. Now back to the topic. You said you didn't get rear shocks, correct? I recommend getting a set as soon as possible. I recommend Bilsteins from personal experience(both price and ride are great on the 5100s). Don't have a part number, maybe the sticker is still on them. I'll try and check tomorrow for you. It's just 2:40 in the morning, in the teens(if not colder by now) and I'm sick so that isn't happening right now lol. Otherwise, I bought the 2.5" lifted bilsteins on jeepin by al's website(I think I need longer for my lift though...). Or you can always go with OME or Ironman rears.

After owning 3 XJs that were lifted there is no comparing what they rode like to a properly lifted KJ. KJs ride 10 times better than any lifted XJ ever could.
I listed what rear shocks to go with , tried to help, good luck with your lift

Out of the box both Ironman and OME give more than the advertised 1.5 inches of lift , every lift I do here rolls out the door at 3.5-3.75 inches , just have to know the tricks to do it which are both cheap and easy

So now enjoy your lift, everyone have a great day

Must have hit a nerve on the Civic, lol. If you do some more research, you'll learn I got much more than a 1.5" lift. You're convinced you got a good deal, and as long as you believe that, that is what is important. And yeah if I stick those tires under mine, they'd fit. Sometimes it's better to let you just think you know better :seuss:

Gonna throw in my 2 cents here. Enough has been said about spacer vs full lift. I'm running OME springs and Bilstein struts/shocks. My only complaint is that after two years now my rear bilsteins are leaking and I'm staring to notice it in the ride. I'm gonna try different shocks when I get around to replacing them. Also, the bilsteins (bought from Jeepin' by Al) didn't come with metal sleeves in the top rubber bushings. I had to make my own which was a minor pain in the @ss.

Ok, maybe enough hasn't been said about full spring lift vs spacers. In my personal experience (having owned my KJ since new), a firmer spring rate has improved the ride and handling a lot. With OME springs, JBA control arms, and a few other tricks, the difference is night and day. I had my lift for almost a year before I put the JBA UCA's on. The way they change the geometry of your suspension is very noticeable in terms of seat of the pants feel. It's not just the ball joint to spring clearance that is improved. They're longer. You're going to have a more drastic camber change with a lift and stock UCA's as your suspension cycles up and down. Example: on my way to work, there's a gravel road with a railroad crossing. With the lift and stock UCA's, it was pretty squirrely to hit it at 40mph. After fitting my JBA control arms, you need to be going d@mn near 65 before it gets uncomfortable.

I can tell you that you can not run 265/75's without any rubbing on a daystar spacer lift.

I know I ran 265/75's and to get every MM of flex without rubbing took a lot more then $800 and much more then 2.5" of lift.Sure wasn't happening with a 8" rim also, been there done that, okay I opted for a coil lift from the get go but tried the 8" rims.

C'mon now, he's got the real lift and he is happy. I've only got that 1.5" of lift. Heck you know I can't get 60 series tires in my fenders without rubbing
We'll have to get you out of work one weekend and see how stuck you can get my KJ with the 60 series Comp T/As stuffed in my fenders

Like has been posted 100s of times, Ironman or OME lift
OME for example will give you 2.5 inches of lift alone, just springs, add a 1/4 inch top plate and you have 3 inches of lift, add 3/8 inch clevis and you now have 3.75 inches of lift .
Rear if you do all of the above install two extra upper isolators and now your rig sits level
Ironman gives a little less lift ( about 1/2 inch in front) but you can add more clevis and make up for it .
All depends on what you want height wise
Both are available from jeepinbyal

Well consider the stock new height was about 19 inches , so add the OME kit for example and you have 21.5-21.75, add a 1/4 inch top plate and you'll have 22-22.25 right where you want to be
For Ironman add 1/4 inch top plate and 1/4 inch clevis and be right about the height you want
Just remember everything you add in the front doubles, add 1/4 inch top plate for example and it will give you 1/2 inch over all

Thank you tom for sticking to the point, and info.. besides jba uppers that ill orde tomorrow, What else can i do to save the front end to save break down, before new lift ? After towing a trailer the front is makeing a noise, unlike normal cv noises, no clicking, or popping while turning, just at slow speed I here a sound like , wa, wa, wa, as the tire goes around.. not loud, just noticalble, checked driver pretty tight, but passenger at top, output of axle, I can wiggle the top of the joint..is there supposed to be a little play there ?

O if the front doubles they call it a it a 2.5, so i it acually that or 5, and with mine how did I end up almost with 3.5 with mine by the messures I gave you? Ok just went outside and messured , front pick, 3 inch, top Plate, 1/4 inch and Between that and spring is a 1/2 inch spring isolator or What ever its called.. so thats 3 3/4.. plz help me with this math so i understand .. rear 3 1/2 pick.. so daystar days 2.5, but actual spaceing is 3 3/4 front ,3 1/2 rear, which about matches What you sayed the from stock 19 , to the 22.5 to 22 1/4 that I have,. Why am I higher then called for ?

I ran the "pre-soft ride" Skyjacker coil lift and was at 23.75" in the front with no spacer plates, just a 3/8" clevis lift to compensate for the ARB and winch. Was 23.5" in the rear.

The red arrow points to the "clevis lift". That's 3 conduit nuts per side(3/8") for measuring reasons. The nuts aren't necessary. The black forks below it is the clevis.

Check out this topic for more info and pics: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44037

Wow after talking to the "MAN" at jeepbyal for about a 1/2 hr. I learned some very intresting stuff .like about my daystar lift.. and about you few that wasnt so nice on here about your real lifts! For starters, yall said that my lift is trash or usless as a lowerd civic. And there wasnt even anything I could do to help fix and ball joint angle/wear problems. because I dont have a REAL lift. Well the fact is your ome/ironman lift gives the same angles and pressures on the ball joints. As my daystar. Mmm .a few said that jba uppers wont help me with my issues bucause I have a daystar.. but ifact they will , just like they help on your " real lifts" and slick with the ironman to get actual 3.5 like me , you had to add parts to your lift to come close to my hight.. when you was done getting your lift higher you wasnt at 703.00 plz..so i didnt pay 100.00 more and could have had a REAL lift for this price.. so im going to order the jba uppers and get the angle / load off my joints, which sayed on here Cant be done..becuse I have a daystar . Wrong.. Wow you few on here are bullies, punks, egofreaks plz.. with that say...I know you have more travel, I know your ride is softer, I never sayed my stuff was better then yalls. But yall sure did.. will daystar help wear worn out 11 yr old springs sure it could.. thats Why I have all new suspension...after takling to the MAN, he has pionted me in the rite direction to better my kj, with the same parts yall big shots did. that wont work with my "DAYSTAR" PLZ... Lets get real on here and have some good talk, stories and help each other on here problems. Not making your self like you joe cool. Im done with this daystar lift topic.. I hope after this We can all get along. Ty Nathan..
