I think this is a much closer evolution of the Liberty than the new Cherokee. Wonder if this will make it to the US with the Diesel option and manual transmission.

What do you think?

It's an evolution of the Patriot which it's replacing.

Maybe, but IMHO the new Cherokee styling is more for soccer moms, the Patriot and the Renegade look like a Jeep. If they bring it over with the Diesel option, I would seriously consider buying one.

Yeah I like it but I wonder how small it is. I had a Patriot but it was too small. Now that I'm not hauling as much I can see myself in one in the future.

Think fiat 500. Think I read it's on the same or similar platform, so pretty small. Now one of these with an oil burner in it, and not typical euro-trash difficulty to repair, and it will sell.

Maybe the 500L since it is 4 doors. The size and capability intrigues me.

I actually like the looks of it from the front, especially in Renegade form. The rear leaves a little to be desired with me.

I heard it was based off the Fiat Panda 4x4. If so, it's based off a successful and capable vehicle.

I like the Renegade much more than I do the Cherokee, however, contrary to early reports, official specifications have revealed that the Jeep Renegade will not be offered with a diesel in the US at launch. I hope it will have a diesel option by the second/third year. Can you imagine what kind of fuel economy this Jeep is going to get? It looks like a Jeep, it is very capable, and could have a diesel! Plus, it comes in SOLAR YELLOW! Oh, and TRAIL RATED!

i really like the looks of the new renegade and so does the wife. I think we might get her one. We live back in the bush and 4x4 is a must. This vehicle seems to be getting bashed alot all over the internet more then praise but it will grow on people. Now the biggest thing is price! I hope it competes with the kia soul starting at what 15-16g. Nobody has said it yet but doesnt that thing look like those old russian Ladas from the 70's?? Those old cars could go anywhere! you'd laugh at them but then shut up after you see where they go.

"While Jeep has not made any official announcement of the price of the new Jeep Renegade, it appears that they may have accidentally posted the starting price on their website briefly. This slip up was spotted by Autoblog.

A starting price of $18,595 for the basic two-wheel-drive version would compete will with the Nissan Juke, while commanding a #3,500 premium over the Nissan Cube and %5,000 atop the Kia Soul base price.

When asked for confirmation, Jeep spokesman Todd Goyer declined to confirm the pricing slip."
