What is the best starter for my 2006 CRD?
I don't know that there are any options

Where is the best place to buy a starter for these?

Does anybody have a part number?

Because there were sparks coming from the starter when the key was put in the start position. The solenoid will click and that's it.

PN is 56041579AB. A good local auto electric place might be able to rebuild the one you have.

Unless you buy a brand new starter, rebuilding yours is usually the best choice. Buying a rebuilt from the discount auto parts store is the worst choice.

AC Delco in Cincinnati rebuilt mine, still running strong 50k later.

I would like to buy a starter for core from somebody. My starter is like new other than the drive. If I can get a core, I have a rebuilder that can match up the drive.

I can't give him mine without parking the Jeep and that is not a good option for me.
