Didn't all KK's come standard with a Sentry Key Engine Immobilizer from the factory? Or was it standard with key less entry? Is there an easy way to check if there's one installed? My auto insurance offers a discount for having one.

I use this site quite a bit at work.

http://transponderkey.com/

In short- in comes with a transponder ignition where "system must detect transponder value from chip in key in order to start engine."

Thanks that was super helpful. I just sent the email to my auto insurance. Hopefully that saves me a couple $$ on my premium. Thanks again! :D

*EDIT*

Uggghhh. I emailed the guy and now they want an "invoice" showing that the car is equipped with the system. I have no clue how I found have a document showing what the alarm system is on it.... I figured they would just go, "Oh ya, it is a factory installed standard option for all 2005-2012 Libertys, I'm sorry we missed it." :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Most likely their underwriting department wouldn't look that up or may not be aware of the resources. What you can do is email Jeep with your VIN and request the build sheet. That will show all your options as well as the theft deterrent. My build sheet lists it.

I was just about to do that on Jeep's site and realized that there is a feature that will produce your build sheet in a pdf format by just punching in your VIN. Here's the link

http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/jeep/index.html

Just click on "Equipment listing" on the lower left hand side of the page.

Even better. I had found an old link that was supposed to show the window sticker. Hopefully that will be all you need.

It's funny, mine shows it having the 3.7L badge but it's nowhere to be found on my KK. Maybe the previous owner removed it in the first 5,000 miles.

I had always wondered that about mine too! I only have the "Trail Rated" badge on the driver side. Always wondered what happened to the passenger side one :dizzy: . Bought mine with something like 18k miles on it.

They only put the Trail Rated badge on the driver's side, for some reason. I was referring to the 3.7L badge that's on the hatch. Honestly, I don't mind that it's gone.

Oh that badge! Now I know what you were talking about.

It's odd to me that Jeep only stuck a Trail Rated badge on one side instead of both. Always planned on ordering another after I do some much needed body work this summer. It drives me crazy when things like that aren't uniform :banghead:

If I remember right, the 3.7 badge seems to only be on 08s, maybe 09s. I don't think my 11 has it.

The trail rated badge is on the left only for a reason. I think it had a military meaning. Like the military wears their badges only on the left side.

Unfortunately the new Cherokee Trail Hawk broke the tradition and has it on both sides.

No 3.7V on my 09 just the 4x4 on the hatch.

I always thought it was an older KK trait to have the 3.7L badge on the hatch. It's funny they still list it on my build sheet.

I'm almost positive only the 2008's came with them. :goink:

To be fair, the 3.7L isn't something most people would be proud of... :-)r
