I finally broke down and shot off an email describing my saga with the gear job. I sent it to their corporate office in Compton, CA. I really didn't expect much to happen but I was pleasantly surprised by a phone call from the manager of the store that did the work originally. It appears that their national reputation really means something to them because they're ordering all of the parts to do the job so that they're available in case the gears are bad then they'll just replace them while I wait. :D
Now maybe I'll get that good feeling while driving down the road instead of second guessing my choice of shops. The guy said he'd do a deal on tires also :pepper:

Hey Ted, that's good news. I have a friend who just had a lift put on his Toyota Tacoma truck and it was Keystone Kops trying to get it finished up. Just little pieces & parts that they "forgot" to install etc. All is good now but he had to be persistent just as you're doing now. Keep up the pressure!

I've always been a little stubborn  every time I take it down the road I get frustrated because it sounds like an old dump truck. Hopefully they get it right this time. It seems they have a new tech also. Mine must not be the only one with problems.

Plus base of operations will be moving soon it seems...............

Getting it straight little by little!!

Image

I can lay a straight edge across the cable opening now and the jack is working to push it back in shape. About another hour of this and I should be ready to throw a little paint back on it.

Tried flat paint first, I wanted to get an idea what it will look like with bedliner.
Glossy paint shows all the dents and is just temporary.

Looks like Columbus bound shortly . Will be working as a "consultant" for a large national Insurance Company that provides care coordination for the elderly and disabled. It's a new demonstration program in OHIO and will have at least 3 years work. My job will be to see that all home renovations/ repairs and maintenance are done correctly and per applicable codes. Starting out covering an 8 county area, may go to 15
