My wife's 08 liberty has been slowly in need of brakes and I finally got around to doing them. We were getting vibrations and what felt like the brakes dragging a little.

I was thinking that maybe one of the front passenger brake pads was stuck on the rotor causing the vibration and excess heat on that wheel.

took everything and compared to the driver side, the only difference was when I had to compress the piston to fit the caliper, the passenger side took almost twice the effort.

Now naturally since I wasnt home, I had to assemble everything anyway to get home (45mins away)

We just got home and I got out to feel the wheel and the driver side is almost cool, but the passenger is still warm...

I am assuming the caliper is stuck in the position of slightly compressing the brakes

If I am right, what are my options? Get a new caliper? Get one of the rebuild kits?
Any suggested reliable upgrade/replacement?

Had the same issue, 08 rear passenger side was locking up...wheel was smoking and so hot you could feel the heat 5 feet away. Pulled the rotor off to inspect the caliper and it was all funky looking, and when I tried to compress it to put back on and it was very difficult, replaced with a new one and all seems well.....

Same issue. Happened to me a few times. The last time was on a 6 hour drive to VT. Kinda forgot about it honestly. I remember the last time it happened I jammed on the brakes cause the guy in front of me was texting or something and stopped short. Pulled off the highway after a mile or so, grabbed lunch, back on the highway and it was fine. Hasn't happened since thankfully.

I've replaced three calipers for all the same reasons. I just attributed it to Florida swamp crossings.

I actually had some squeaking today from my rear left brakes. I think it's my ebrake caliper. The line is so loose that my ebrake does nothing when u pull the lever. Last time I let Monroe touch anything >_>
