So it looks like the transfer case is shod. All 4 wheels in the air and only the rear wheels turn when put to full time. Rev it up a bit in drive and the go slightly but i can hold the propshaft. Put on brakes and KLAK!!! It engages in the transfercase. Then klack klack klack the whole time. I put a screwdriver to ear on the transfer case and sure enough it is there on the inside.

So these are my questions:

Can I fit the propshaft for the rear directly to the gearbox to drive until I have a new transfer case?

I is a NV242 with 2.72 ratio.
Can I put in a RUBICON transfercase with 4.11 ratio?
