Looks good KE! What are your first impressions of that winch? It looks like a good deal with the synthetic line, just not sure about Smittybilt.

love it....
but why not green springs??????

Good question lol. I'd have to have them sandblasted and re-powdercoated and that's just too much time, money, and effort. Plus I'm lazy :-)r

How'd I miss this, this morning? Looks awesome!! Can't wait to see it installed. Did you just spray paint everything or actually have stuff powder coated?

Based on the springs and shock choices, I'd say it's the old Econo lift. Basically OME springs and Bilstein shocks with the top plates, clevis, and extra isos to get you 3.5" of lift. It's what I run, and it's great aside from the uca contact.

Well played! That's exactly what it is. Hopefully the JBA 5.5 UCA's help reduce any UCA contact. Even if they dont, radioactive green UCA's are just plain cool 8)

It'll happen quite a bit til it breaks in. After that if you're heavy on the gas and hit a bump while the Jeep is squatted you'll have it, or over big bumps. Also if you take a speed bump too fast they hit. Otherwise they clear nicely.

Did you have everything powder coated or did you spray paint it?

My mechanic tells me the new engine is in and it is running! They want to run it through its paces tomorrow to make sure everything is working right, but it looks like I will have my KK back tomorrow! :JEEPIN:

Hi Morgan,
We get a lot of rain here, so I wanted something light and water proof (IP68)
The Smittybilt fits the bill :) First impression, it seems well made.
It's been out in the rain for almost 24 hours...so far so good. (We actually had to spool the dyneema rope in the rain yesterday, as it did not come pre-spooled)
Has the 5.5 motor so its spools quick.

Good news! I got the KK back today and it feels like a brand new Jeep! It is so quiet at idle it makes you think the engine isn't running, but it is. So smooth on takeoff, too. It feels like driving a tank after scooting around in a low-slung '96 Tacoma for the last two weeks. 8) I like having a 2014 Liberty! :JEEPIN: Since it is in effect a brand new engine with zero miles, I'll need to change the oil after the first 500 miles of break-in. I plan to go only 3000 miles between oil changes thereafter and give it lots of TLC.

Installed the 4.7 throttle body this evening (thanks kkomodo!) Had to install upside down for the time being until I figure out why the pins aren't lining up

My first test drive I didn't really notice a considerable difference
Though it could be because I'm using an adapter and my stock air box. Maybe a 3in intake would change things

Keep us updated. I would think results would be more noticeable with a cold air intake.
