Lucky you, my last tank was 12.66....It was a little over 200 miles on the tank. I think around 215ish. And about 150 of those miles was on the highway...

BMXer how are you getting ~12 mpg?? Is it due to your tires? If I got that kinda mileage my Liberty would be parked.

My KK is currently parked due to my wife being out of work. I'm driving her car which gets 30-40 mpg for my long commute. I feel like a bear in a clown car, but it does go fast.

Lift and tires are killing it. I used to average about 16-17mpg for the commute, now I'm averaging about 14, 15 on a really good week. Problem is the semester is ending, so I'm doing a lot more city driving. Stop and go really kills with the big tires. Once you're up and running it isn't as bad, it's the starting off that hurts lol.

Good to know. I bought a used JBA lift. I need to clean it up a bit and wasn't sure if I wanted to have the springs powdercoated or if I should just rattlecan them.

I can give you a report on rattlecanning my roof basket and sliders last summer.
I ground off as much rust as possible using a wire brush bit and drill, cleaned with mineral spirits, then added 2 coats of Rustoleum primer and 2 coats of Rustoleum hammered black. They looked awesome. But over the winter, rust spots began to appear from underneath the paint. They are still about 90% black and 10% rust, but after a year it is time to take them off and paint them again. If you're looking for something more permanent, and can spend the extra money, powdercoating is probably the way to go. But if you're like me and you can't come up with $600 for powdercoating (quote for roof basket and 2 sliders!), Rustoleum sounds real good!

I might get a quote on just the springs then. They're small, so they won't be that high. Anyone have tips on how to clean the Bilstein shocks and?

Brown Santa just came!! I officially have RL's sliders sitting in my living room. Now I need to decide on what I want to do with them. Torn between painting them black and probably adding a bit of grip tape to the top of the outer tube, or bedlining them. Maybe even powdercoating them.

Any input?

When I bought Brian's RL sliders, he bedlined them for me. They looked good initially, but the rattlecan bedliner just didn't hold up through the winter. I'd say if bedlining, use the good stuff that professionals use on truck beds. Rustoleum primer + hammered black paint worked much better than spray-on bedliner IMO, and it is easier to paint over scratches later on and have it still look good. It still doesn't keep out all the rust, but it seems to hold up better over time. The longest-lasting option is probably powdercoating, as long as you don't use your rocksliders on... rocks!

If I do bedline I probably will go to a shop to have them do it. I'm definitely going to look into powdercoating though. You've been to the island. All beaches here. I think powdercoat will withstand what I put it through. Rocks aren't really common unless I head out of state, and even then I probably won't take the KK down super hard trails. I just like the added protection of armor.

RL rock sliders came in! Now I've gotta pickup a rattlecan of bedliner and do both them and by back bumper before throwing them on.

Washed and updated the Hypertech today. I had two core updates... Guess I should've updated it before installing the first time.
