Attempting the black headlight bezel mod for the second time as we speak. First try a few months ago didn't go well and I didn't have the patience lol..

Hoping someone can answer this for me. Is there a way to get rid of the long rev's the KK has? Why does it do this and is it impossible to get rid of?

I took some measurements on my JBA lift for Bmxer524, so I thought I'd post here as well. I have an '08 KK with a used JBA 4 inch lift that I bought off of another LOST member back in 2012.

Measured center of the wheel to flare (inches):
Front: 21 drivers; 21 passengers
Rear: 22 drivers; 22.5 passengers

And how it sits now. There is a 1 inch rake, just like stock. I think the stock measurements are 18 front, 19 rear. By the time I replaced my suspension it had sagged to 17 front, 18 rear. The lift springs have sagged a little as well, but it is still a very nice height. I may try to adjust the front up to 21-1/2 if not 22 the next time I need an alignment. I had it set at 21-1/2 initially.

Cheers,
Lauren

Good luck! I never had the patience to even try this.

@ Lauren congrats on getting your jeep back :)
@ Bmxer, congrats on getting more parts for your jeep!
@ silverkk and 2010jeep, They both look great!
@ LKW, I noticed on your sig that you have the oscar mike decal
was planning on putting the distressed star decals on my KK, do you have any pics? thanks

Recently added $43 dollar backup camera ($23 for the lcd monitor and $20 for the waterproof hd camera, both Esky brand)
So far with all the rain we've been getting here, It's been holding up well.
I chose this location, so I can still use the backup camera even when the liftgate is up.
The only hard part was snaking the video cable all the way from the rear to the front
under the left side pas and d/s bottom door molding. Other than that wiring was pretty simple.
If you want to hook it up to you reverse light, it's the white with green stripe wire)

I'm pretty suprised at how well my $20 backup camera works. 2 years now still going strong.

Hopefully mine would last that long :)
If not, I had it setup so that I can just unplug the 2 hookups
from under the d/s tailight and replace it with a new one.
This model claims to be waterproof...I had the hose full blast and I hit it
quite a few times when I washed the KK the other day and it seems to have
a good seal on it.
BTW Morgan, I've been getting a lot of compliments
on the bumper from friends, neighbors and even strangers lol

Thanks again! Btw, my front end is higher than yours lol. I sit at 21.5-21.75" front driver, 22" front passenger and 21.5" both rear. Those were measured in April. I doubt it changed much. I've had the lift in since August. You can definitely crank the front up a bit.

Knightenforcer, gotta love new parts. This is going to be a busy summer for the KK. A new lift, some slliders, possibly a CB  , and getting some other odds and ends installed.

Not sure what the reason is, but that's just the way it is.
I'm used to a 300 horsepower carbureted engine, so you can imagine how I feel. :furious:

I wish! I know you're heavily modded, but do you know your fuel economy with the manual?

Knight - I got these EBay for $30. It came with the large one on the hood and two smaller ones. I have one on each fender.

You can choose the colors you want. Just take your time with the hood. I had a ton of bubbles but they eventually went away.

Thanks LK, I got the 5.5" ones from amazon the other day but I wasn't sure if it'll fit. Thanks for the pics!
I'm not putting one on the hood....but yours looks good with it :)

I'm getting 15ish driving mainly on the interstate. I'm making a trip to Houston from San Antonio this afternoon and will report my exact MPGs when I arrive. I love my Jeep too much to care all that much about the MPGs, they do hurt, but I didn't get her for the fuel economy. I also have the KC's up top and the bumpers make her pretty hefty. Next on the list: Gears.

Headed to my neck of the woods eh?

Having to wait till Tuesday to go look at the progress on my jeep is killing me! I just want to have it all fixed again.

Did anyone with the 4 inch lift have to do a transfer case drop

No, never heard of that with the Liberty. When I had an XJ and was on CherokeeForum, that used to sometimes be necessary to prevent driveline vibes with tall lifts, but I've been on this forum since 2011 and have a 4 inch lift on my KK and have not heard of that ever being an issue. Maybe some of the SFA swap guys who went 6+ inches of lift may have needed to.

Ha ha, sounds like a good idea. I could go up to 22 and be even at all four corners.

If you do, post up some pics!! That's what I would plan on doing if I got 4" rear springs.

Silverkk, I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody that I know of has done it and they don't have problems. Heck, even some 6" lifted KJs are fine. My friend has 6" rear springs in his KK and he doesn't have any problems.
