Going through this right now but I'm 80 miles away. Daughter is driving the jeep. She went into a store and came out to a no start situation. What a pita. Starter is only a few months old. Battery is a tough beast and a jump made no diff. Her boyfriend said there is no noise from under the hood at all. I am thinking the rod to the actual starter switch that is talked about earlier. My GDE scan tool was in there and the only codes are what I knew would be there. 1140,1250, and b whatever for the viscous heater. Is it possible to manually activate the actual starter switch to get it running. I am a little nervous of asking them to remove and jumper the starter relay. I had them disconnect the neg battery cable for a few minutes and there was no change. To top it all off I was working on our boat today and took a long fall that was interrupted by the ladder that deserted my feet in the first place...lol. No safety lectures please.

So on mine it is the pot metal on the actuator assembly that is broken away, pin itself looks good. Will order a new Dorman unit tomorrow. The wife laughed when I told her she could start it with a screwdriver and said that brings back memories. Old valiant we had in the 80's had a screwdriver ignition as well.
As usual thanks to everyone on here for all the great info and part #s

Gotta love small towns FLAPS. $69.00 for the dorman assembly next day arrival. If we didn't have to make a 6 day road trip leaving Friday I would have ordered from Amazon for $ 44.00 Oh well.
