12KK SFD, i have only been searching by size and brand...it seems part of the issue is my stock tires are 235s. Belle tire or tire rack dont even have the stock 235/70/16 Wrangler SR-As that came on my Jeep. it makes no sense.

To be fair, my stock SR-As are the 235s as well. But I went with the 225 Duratracs. There's a very minor difference in their sizing and it wasn't enough for me to worry about with the speedometer.

But you're comparing the stock 235-70-16s to 225-75-16 ( just a note so as not to confuse some folks out there)

For what its worth I've run 245/70r16 and 235/75r16 and prefer the look and slight extra clearance of the 235/75r16. I'm using Hankook ATM's and like them and have Copper AT3's on my other Jeep and like them too. I like the tread on the AT3 and sidewall design on the Hankooks. Performance is similar all around with the Coopers being slightly quieter.

If you re set on 255/70r16 Duratracs now come in that size. Its a lighter SL rating.

Thank you for the input kayadog! Knowing the Cooper AT3s are quitter than the hankooks has bumped them up in consideration. The fight is between the duratracs and AT3s now.

To update everyone, like i stated earlier in this thread, i currently have two good tires and two bad ones. So the plan is to by one new SR-A and swap my full size spare to take care of the two bad tires...for now. This frees up plenty of money for a lift. I will be getting married at the end of next month, that's when my wife gets her IPad Air and I get my lift . Then it will be back to the fight between 245/75/16 Duratracs and AT3s.

Duratrac's are certainly rugged looking and if your off-road includes deep snow or mud they are a good choice. However, for streetability, wet and icy road traction, noise, comfort, handling, and bad weather driving the AT3's are hard to beat for an all terrain. Consumer Reports and Overland Journal both rated them the best all terrain tire. You can get them cheaper than the Duratracs too. Discount Tire Direct often offers big rebates on them and free shipping.

Much rather have Duratracs over those AT3s
Not sure how AT3 are better than Duratracs for streetability, wet and icy road traction, noise, comfort, handling, and bad weather driving
Mine are the best tires I have ran for ages.

If just wanting an AT type tire I would at least go with the DISCOVERER ATPTM
They at least look a little bit like they go on a 4X4

I guess it depends on how you use you use your Jeep. I would definitely rather have the Duratracs on my Jeep for looks, but for the actual way I use my Jeep--25k miles a year 99% on road with most of the off road in sand-- the AT3's make a lot more sense. My biggest complaint is their mild appearance (they do look more aggressive in person) but the they are remarkably good on and off road for an all terrain tire. They are very popular over at Expedition Portal and I find that they know there stuff over there.

The Cooper ATP (Discount Tire only) and Mastercraft AXT (made by cooper) are basically the same tire and are slightly more aggressive looking so check those out too.

That being said if I did more recreational wheeling I would go with Duratracs or maybe a Cooper ST Maxx.

I priced out a lift and Im thinking ome 927s/ ironman shocks up front, with JBA 2.5" rear coils/ bilsteins shocks in the rear.
Does anyone see an issue with mixing OME/JBA springs? Are there any advantages to the JBA rear coils?
Also, with the 2.5" rear springs, is it better to stick with the 2.5" bilstein shock or the new 4" Ironman shock?

Thanks!

Liberty Lift FAQ / please read before asking questions
In the KJ section, 98% of what is talked about on there relates to the KK as well

Kinda makes me think about doing it. Probably wouldn't be too bad.

Big tire sale at discount tire direct right now.
