dcbelcher26, although it may be technically possible to put 245/75/16's on a stock KK, 95+% of people on here will tell you it isn't advisable. The rub will worsen as your stock springs sag, and you'll have a lot of contact when turning, flexing or going over bumps. 95+% of people will also advise against any kind of spacer lift, as the ride will worsen and it will prematurely sag your springs. Save for a 2.5 inch OME or Ironman lift kit (full springs and shocks), about $850 on http://www.jeepinbyal.com. Even with a spacer lift you'll also need longer rear shocks, and after installation and alignment you're more than half way to a full spring lift kit already.

Funny thing is i purchased a 2inch spacer lift and returned it. I do want to get a full spring lift. All in good time. I passed on the tires anyways

Its best to do it right once than to do something else and hate it.

Oh trust me, I've been on the forums. Had the carbs completely tore apart for a rebuild. Already had the top end off for a valve adjustment and to check the timing. All kinds of work to get this thing running right but it's worth it. You'll never see a GS650 chain drive

That's how I learned to work on my bikes. I took apart a honda cb400's engine and replaced the cylinder heads
and cleaned the carbs...that was 10years ago...fun, fun fun..lol
Everytime I buy a used bike, I made sure I get a service manual for it. That and make sure you have a torque wrench.
(you'll never guess how many bolts I broke before getting one)

i lost few mpg with the 4" lift, once i installed a longer track bar i got them back

Having a longer track bar improves mpg?

Started my headlight mod cut and epoxied some caps to hide my blank fogs so at least I can picture in my mind what to do about color either paint the Rescue Green to go with the rest or continue with my first plans and paint the grill and the covers with black plastic dip along with the bumpers and fenders toping off with a decal down the center of the hood. Any opinions curious.?? If I knew how to use any of the special photo software I'd play around but beings I don't well imagination.lol

Pictures really don't do your KK color justice.

Anyway there's another Kk here same color that used bedliner on the bumpers and fenders. I think it looked pretty good and gives a nice contrast to the black.

Just an FYI the adhesive that comes with those covers is impossible to remove.

Yea funny color, odd color, Thanks for the heads up on the adhesive haven't pulled the grill yet when I do I'll take a look into some thing different as until I finish the headlight covers and at least get a coat of paint on the before I install them, still need to shave the block outs I put in and secure them from behind also before I paint them, so your saying there's a KK same color that did his with black bed liner I guess I'm asking bed liner paint doesn't come in colors does it.

Added cruise control, rostra 250-9001 kits. Seems to be plug in play.

Next on the list is tinting the windows. Not sure how dark to go, looking at precut kits on amazon. Any advice on how dark to go?

You really don't want to do the pre cuts. Depending on the kit it could turn purple after a couple years. Check your state laws for the tint darkness. Mine is 27%.

I took the KK out with the girlfriend last night. We grabbed some food to go and ate down by a river. After dinner we found a couple of big puddles to splash through. Despite the high humidity it was a nice night.

Going to install new rear brakes after work today. I checked the rear pads last night and they are about toast. The front pads have about 50% life left.

Doing all this in my garage and I hope the heat and humidity doesn't kill me lol.

Bought a new toy found out a couple weekends ago it's getting a little rough wrestling with big bolts and working all day to, but still want to tinker. So may not be a what have I done to it today but continuing to working toward that first clevis lift this should make it a little easier to complete, lol, I did start with checking correct torque on wheels.
