Hey guys,

I’ve been dreading this post, but it’s finally done. Last night, I traded in Squatch for a new JKUR. It made sense financially (I need “real” credit on a loan, I have a stable job, KK is paid off, and low expenses), and it’s something I’ve dreamed of doing for years.

You guys have been awesome, and I really appreciate the time I’ve been on LOST. I’ve learned a lot about everything here, and I can honestly say that it is the best community/forum I’ve belonged to.

Thanks again guys, I’ll still be returning waves to KKs and KJs when I come across the wave. Take care and keep on jeepin everyone :JEEPIN:

PS - this is the trade in moment for my KK (Squatch) and my JKUR (Leyte, named after the aircraft carrier my grandpa served on in the Korean War)

Looks good! Good luck with it. How much did you get for the KK if you don't mind me asking?

Sad to see you sell it. Your KK was nice, but the JKUR looks great too! If you're ever in the Texas area look us up, we have one or two Rubis in Lonestar LOST. We don't discriminate lol. Now go out and take pictures of you wheeling it! :JEEPIN:

Thanks guys! I really love the Anvil Grey, it looks like a battleship on the road

Don’t mind at all about trade in. I had just under 35k miles and got $20k. Trade-in guy was my old football coach, though, and said he would’ve started with 18k and gone up a bit.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to rip the doors and top off last night (got back to my house at like 10:30 after cruising around haha). I’ll be settling into it today (read: taking doors off and ordering summer top) and wheeling this weekend. I’ll be around some, too, and on JF with the same user name!

 That's a great deal! I recently had mine appraised for $14k. But I also have 60K miles and a few scratches and dings  .So.... It will end up being my beater for a while.

That's great! That's a nice downpayment for the JKUR lol. One of these days I'll join you. Always wanted a JKU.

Definitely a nice downpayment. Also got an employee discount (friend is an engineer), so that was helpful too. Loan isn’t too high.

I had wanted one when I got the KK, but insurance was through the roof and my mom couldn’t stand the idea of me being in a death machine (her words lol). Just buy once, cry once with it. I think I’ll make sure of the D44 front and rear with lockers pretty soon, so that's why I upgraded to the Rubi. Dad is looking at a Sport S, but he won’t wheel too much anyway, so buy whatever fits your bill

EDIT - JeepNCrowd: I think my buddy missed my paint work when he appraised, got a few fat scratches from a bush/tree thing a while back and it was pretty bad. I’m really thankful I got lucky though, I would’ve been pushing my budget if I had gotten 18k or less

The big bill isn't buying one, it's the upgrades my dream JKU has lmao. I gave my girlfriend the list when she asked about it. Then I gave her the prices. JKU on 1 tons, 37-40s, ls v8 swap, and a bunch of other odds and ends adds up quick lmao

Well.. that would be insanely awesome, better win the lottery though :goink: I wanted a JK I could buy, hop into, and wheel fairly high level stuff immediately, sorta why I was leaning to the Rubi. Plus, I financed a good amount of upgrades instead of paying cash, so I'm a happy dude.

Thanks Gage, we never did get around to meeting up :( If you want to meet up at some point soon, just let me know!

It's a dream. One of these days....maybe... Rubis are great starters. Figure stock, it will out wheel your lifted KK. SFA makes it better in the rocks as well. Just an overall great platform. Especially for those that need the practicality with a family.

Luckily no family yet, a bit young for that still  4 door is just better for playing DD though, no trunk on a 2 door and I use backseats fairly often. So, 2 door was (unfortunately) eliminated. It’ll definitely outwheel my KK, played around just a bit last night and the stock flex (without e-disco on) is pretty incredible.

Morgan - is there even a Jeeper that buys one with plans to not? :ROTFL: right now I’m a bit cash strapped and still need some essentials (mainly a summer top, seat covers, possibly floor mats). In the next few months I want to chop the stock bumper to stubby, get a winch mount and hoop, then finish it off with a Warn if possible. After that, who knows. I wanna wheel it a bunch before I go lift and tire swap. Probably grab a few cool little accessories along the way (thinking of the tailgate table).

So,yes, modding slowly but surely

I’m moving to Virginia on July 30, so a good bit still. I’ll be back pretty often, working remotely for a year while my GF finishes her master’s degree, and I gotta come up here whenever I need to be in the office for client meetings/presentations, project launches, and other fun fun fun stuff

Working full time  luckily I snagged a job where I can have a year or two to travel/move around, which is why I’m able to move back down to VA. My KK is at the Flemington Jeep dealer. They asked for my stock Jet wheels (covered in plastidip) and they’re switching them out soon and giving me my 950s and tires back. So chances are it’ll be returning to stock

On the bright side, you might get your lift back. Sell the rims and tires, then sell the lift and bam right there is mod money for the JK.
