Just got a 11' liberty, my first jeep. I would like to put some aftermarket wheels on her but as you know there's not a lot out there in 16x7"

If I were to by 16x8 wheels what would the backspace and offset minimums and maximums be? Assuming no lift.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What size tires are you going to be using on the 16x8? 245 width or more is the size to go with.

Have not considered tires yet. Just wanted to be sure an 8" rim would fit with no issues. I didn't know if a particular offset or backspace would not work in this size.

Unlifted would not recommend going to an 8 inch wide wheel , asking for rubbing, but if you think you just have to have them stay with stock backspacing

I have 16x8 Cragars and had no rubbing with my 245-70-16 tires. It didn't rub before lift and here's the after lift.

Well funny that Discount Tire advised it and funny that I had zero issues.

Not going to argue but Discount and a lot of the other tire shops will sell you anything you ask for. They look at the bottom line only, sell products and make money. Look around at some of the ridiculous wheel and tire setups on some of the rigs, no room for the tires to rotate when going straight, making turns all you hear if rubbing in the fenderwells.

But whatever trips your trigger

Just the fact that I had zero issues. So OP regardless of what people say you can run a 16x8 no problem

It's very common for owners to fit 245/70R16 as a size upgrade to an standard height KK. I had the Cooper AT3 fitted in this size before lifting with no rubbing whatsoever. On factory wheels I agree that this might be the limit though.
