SkiDog (Mike) came down to my house today from Norfolk and we installed a Frankenlift on his '05 Renegade. The lift went really well and we now have it down to a science, using a ratchet strap to line up the clevis is the only way to go. No cussing or hair pulling today and it only took four hours to do the complete install.

DUDE you got the pics up before I got home.. They look great. There is absolutely no comparison to the ride after installing, very smooth, no pulling to either side stays right in the middle of the road. Thanks for the help.(you did most of the wrenching) IT DEFINITELY IS A TWO MAN JOB !!!!!
Let me add. IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND help it makes the job go a great deal easier..

SKIDOG said it was a two man job, well just so somebody does not get the wrong idea and thinks they can not do it by their self, they can. I did mine by myself in less than 5 hours and that was cleaning up afterwards. Not to start anything but I had seen on here before how long it took, how hard it was etc.
Not trying to take anything away from anyone but just letting those who may be thinking of trying not to afraid to tackle it themselves.

By the way it looks great!! I can not believe how much better they look after a lift!

You guys that did it "all" on your own must have a third arm growing out of your head.

We are not worthy of your superior mechanical ability.

Did not want to say that I was or anyone else that does it on there own is better , just that if you have a little bit of mechanical knowledge you can do it on your own. Do I wish I had help a couple of times ....SURE! But I had to do it cause no one else in this town has ever seen a lifted KJ, plus just moved up here a few months ago so no new friends, off subject I know .
Also had it a little easier because I went with just the OME springs/ Rancho struts and the conduit washers (5 of them each side)
I just think sometimes some get scared away from trying it themselves, then spend good money paying a shop to do it for them.

Now that's a couple good lookin' KJs right there. Nice job guys!

Mutt and SkiDog - Richard (UVALAX) and Mike (Ugg) are coming over to help me install my Daystar lift, Mopar skids, and (time permitting) front receiver hitch on Saturday June 3rd. I don't have a garage or any amazing tool collection, just a relatively flat driveway and enough tools to get the job done. But you're more than welcome to come over and help if you want. The sooner we get done, the sooner we can walk across the street and get drunk on the bayside beach. If we can swarm the dang thing, it'll be more of a beach party than an install party and that'd be okay with me. 8) Let me know if you're interested in coming over and I'll PM you details.
