So I'm looking on Tire Rack for 225/75/16's and 245/70/16's. I wanted to get some mud tires. Tire Rack didn't have any for the 245's, so I'm looking at 225/75:

BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM
Bridgestone Dueler M/T D673
Firestone Destination M/T

Out of those three, what would be the best overall buy (taking into consideration ability and tread life)?

Or should I just get the Revo's or A/T KO's instead?

The Revo's sound like the best choice for daily driving and still do well off-road. Those KM's look the best visually but unknown how well they would do on-road.

Can you do the "have extra wheels and tires for off-road use but keep stocks on for daily driving?" Just swap them out when going off-road.

Depends what you're doing with them. I've had both the Destination's and Revo's on mine. I only had the Destination's on for a few weeks though. They were very noisy and very stiff. My commute to work is only 2 miles each way, and I never get over 40 mph. These are noisiest between 25 and 35 mph. Anyways, I ended up returning them and getting the Revo's. I will admit, they don't look as aggressive, but they are much more civilized. You can see the original post at http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=137 I have taken the Revo's off-raod too, and they held up well. There was one spot where the Destination's would have gotten me through, that the Revo's didn't, but otherwise they did just fine. I even had them aired down to 22 psi with no issues. Like I said earlier, it depends on what you are doing with them. If you are only going to have it off-road once in a while, then get the Revo's. If you are going out every weekend, then get the Destinations.

Hope this helps!

If you have a Sam's Club near you, they sell Dunlop Rovers pretty cheap. 4 33x12.5x15 Rover M/T's were $511 installed with a warranty. No,they did not go on the KJ....

try looking for 235/70r16 for tires. those are the most popular.

I am looking into the same thing... what which of these tires would have the longest life, and would hold up in snow pretty well?

i have never owned any of these tires (to much $$ for me to spend on tires) but i know several folk who have the BFG mts and love them
i can tell you this the 225/75 16 will never rub thats the size we have on our KJ they are a taller narrow tire so it does not do well in mud but it does very well on hard packed trails and rocks

I would think none of them would be good in the snow. All are mud tires with big voids between the tread. The smaller amount of rubber that hits the road, the worse the tire is on snow /ice. Pick the one with the closest tread pattern and it will be the best on snow. It will also be the worst in the mud though. If you sipe them they will be better in the snow but will wear faster. Life is full of trade-offs!!
