So I've owned and unfortunately had to sell two different JK's (including a Rubi) and my wife won't forgive me for not managing to afford to keep them, so I've been ordered to get her a Jeep. The only used Jeep in our current price range that she likes is the KK so we're getting her one (2010 sport). It's going to be 2wd and I'm curious if any of you have tried any minor trail or camp driving in a 2wd KK and how it went. I also used to have a 2wd '94 cherokee sport and it would go just about anywhere it had the ground clearance for if you were careful with it and it didn't have traction control like the KK supposedly does. I'm not expecting to get into mud and rocks and I know it's not even a shadow of the JK or other wranglers, but the Cherokees and KJ were pretty decent. Thoughts?

Good tires and a good driver can take it anywhere.

No idea where you're located, but this winter, NY and the Northeast got slammed with snow storms. I didn't use 4wd once. I'm lifted and run 245/75-16 Duratracs, but a stock KK with stock sized Duratracs would have been just as fine.

It's all about the driver and traction. Ground clearance is good, if you want more add a lift and larger tires. If you're asking about managing gravel roads and getting to campsites, you'll be fine. They're more capable than you think.
