So, I've been watching all of the problems with the Skysliders leaking. I don't have one and was detailing my KK last weekend. Carpets and padding under my drivers side front and back were soaked! Pulled off the roof racks and found that all 4 corners (8factory posts). Had cracks around them and one corner rusted and could be pried off if I wanted to. I have removed the entire interior but left the headliner up, didn't want to mess with the airbags.

Any other source of a water leak besides the factory rack mounting points?

Any quick way to get the water out of the padding?

What rust products should I use on the floor pan?

Any input would be great, thanks, Jon

I've repaired this issue too. See this thread for a solution:

Thanks for the link. I did follow that advise and it worked for the leak from the molding above the rear door. However it doesn't address the issue of the rack studs lifting the metal that makes the cracks separate. I've used the heck out of my racks, but now I won't trust them for anything more than skiis. I wish I knew how the seam up there was joined/spot welded/or just superglued. Once I get my drivers seat back in I'm taking it to the Jeep body shop and see if they can weld it shut.

Then to address the rust on the floor pan :furious:
