How does the pressure get to the 2 rear calipers if there is no hose? That doesn't make any sense.

Via Bluetooth, lol. Seriously though, sorry, I made an assumption... I meant the Goodridge kit doesn't have the 2 rear caliper hoses included, it only has the front 2 caliper hoses and the 1 rear axle hose (and not the rear caliper hoses - which would bring the number of hoses in the kit to 5 vs the 3 included).

So my '06 also has 5 soft hoses, 2 in the front, 3 in the back. The difference on my rear axle is that one of the soft lines goes to the axle like your's and then heads off in a hard line over to the passenger caliper only where it switches to a rubber line for the last ~6". The drivers side gets handled by a completely separate hard line from the master cylinder which terminates at a softline that hangs from the wheel well down to the drives side caliper.

So my rear brakes are 100% independent. Goodridges brake hoses would work, but would only replace the body to axle soft line which only connects to the passenger side. I would still have soft lines for each caliper as with an '05. However, if I wanted to lift my jeep, the goodridge lines would not extend to soft line for the drivers side caliper. This is why JBA makes a 4 hose extended hose kit specifically for the '06-'07 liberty.

I see the difference now, and it makes total sense for your independent rear brakes. In your first pic, the 05s (which don't have esp or a true 4 wheel abs) have a 3-way "splitter" for the brake line (versus yours which I believe is a "legacy" left-over to keep accommodating the diff breather and old existing line from 05s so they won't have to completely redesign the rear lines routing), one where the line with pressure gets in and 2 that go out, each towards the left and right rear wheel.

Maybe that's why there is no set with 5 brake hoses since there are too many differences and confusion on which set fits which model year...

Sorry about resurrecting an old thread but this is extremely important for people to start checking. My 05 has one bad line but a friend who owns an 06 recently asked me to perform a cv axle swap and while I was in there I decided to inspect the undercarriage. Inspection revealed 4 bubbled brake lines!!!!! One bubble was just beginning but the other three were fairly large blisters in the outer covering. The rear brake lines were only available from Jeep (none of my local suppliers had it anyway) and one side was over $300.00. Gettem checked folks!

As with the OP, I've owned lots of rigs and have never seen such failures. The lines on these Libby's must be some kind of cheap.

I've never personally experienced this but I believe a number of manufacturers have had this issue over the years.

..but no surprise there. These lines are far from the only place that Chrysler cheaped out on this vehicle.

Just info for other owners, you can get Goodridge stainless braided lines for much less than that.
