Hey fellas,

I just hobled on over from jeepkj.com and heres post #1

I personally run the RRO Budget kit on my 05 renny.
I wont flame, but it will suffice to say that the lift blows; but has potential.

I installed mine and noticed some squeeking and rubbing shortly after. I initially thought it to be my swar bar, thinking I hadn't tightened it properly. Long story short I tightened everything...twice. It didn't stop. I was driven insane very quickly. Two days later I just happened to be in a lazy mood and drove it to the dealer for a check up.
I hadn't even walked into the service area to ask if they would have time to look at it when one of the mechanics ran out to me.

The first think out of his mouth was "RRO lift kit", literally. He said he heard me pulling through the lot (bumpy) and knew. He ,a dealer mechanic, had purchased the exact same kit, and managed to come up with a simple solution. Clearancing on the inside of the strut spacer. Grinding down the inside of the spacer where the top of the strut tower was actually rubbing on the spacer! What a pain; after I had completed the install myself a first time. I asked him if he would grind them for me and he did. Disassembled my lift right in the dealership garage on their lifts! LOL He did my alignment for me too, and all off the books. I gave him $100 for the whole thing. Well worth it to me to save the un/re install.

Bottom line. The Budget kit is a horror for the uninformed, but if you know about the WTI (thats Worst-Than-Imaginable if you didn't know) quality of their design in advance its a kick booty kit. RRO will deny to their deaths that there is a problem with the kit so don't even bother argueing with them.

As for RRO themselves. I hear the owner is a great guy, but unfortunately they struggle with service, due to their size.

I bought my Kit off their Ebay store and told them I was assembling a show-truck, and would be showing it the coming weekend. They shipped it 2nd day UPS at no cost to me. I lied; but it was sure nice of them to bend over backwards for me. I justify it, since I went through hell to get my ARB bull bar from them.

Ignore the ebay feedback, its all shipping complaints. Ebayers always want first rate order processing and it just doesn't happen.

As if this post wasn't long enough. I am Extremely excited about the New CV's however I don't dare buy them until I see some positive, credible, and unbias reviews.

Sorry for the edit I was a little mixed up.

I don't see why people dislike RRO so much. They do sell a bad product, but then again so do many other companies who also sell really good products. That is probably my only complaint against them. I also thing that they could go with a website update, but then again, I have seen many larger companies have out of date websites (and some of those companies are computer companies).

I ordered my last locker from them. The only problem that I had, was that the powertrax locker was incompatible with my manual transmission. I can't tell you how good there service for incompatible parts is, because I checked here first only to find other had had issue with that locker on a manual tranny. They sent me the locker so much faster than I expected. I think it took 2 days to get to my house. I asked questions via e-mail before I bought it and they responded quickly enough (within a day). Try that with some companies and you won't ever get a reply.

The only negative things being said about this company really seem to be those who have never purchased from them. Which really is a shame. (really complaining about a 98% approval rating)

It is like anything else, you need to know what you are buying from a source other than the manufacturer/seller before you buy it, but you have to do that everywhere. RRO is a good place to get things.

I look forward to there High angle CV shafts. That means that we are 1 step closer to running 33" tires. I think that the reason why we don't have a better front diff is because almost no one will benefit from it. Now I think people can benefit from it so maybe someone will make a new from diff housing. (then we can get gears and such :))

That's my problem with them...If we know that they have a bad product, but they can't admit it or remove the product from the shelves, i'm sorry, I won't buy from them. I did buy a diff guard from them before I knew all the complaints and RRO saying that they never heard of the problem with their budget lift, and it is a down right lie. And to me that's enough to not do anymore business with them. Not the fact that they sell a bad product as much as the lieing.

The long travel CV/axles have been used for many years on the offroad race rigs, the VWs have the longest history. If they get them from one of the companies that have a history off road they should be a good product. If they try to re-engineer the wheel then there going to be a serious learning curve.
