Does anyone know the specifics with fuel cut on our Liberty when decelerating?
I'm wondering if it's easier to trigger it by aggressively letting off the throttle completely, or by lightly letting off the throttle completely.

I've tried coasting in neutral, but it doesn't act any different than in gear from what I see. I don't believe fuel cut can be engaged in neutral.
Also, not a fan of the feeling of going from neutral to drive.
Maybe someone has something different in there manual that has one of the "newer" Liberties that has "eco" mode. Anyone?

When coasting my Scangauge sometimes reads 9999 mpg, but I'd be willing to bet the engine isn't completely cutting off the fuel. At least the 2008 version isn't. I think the later version with the ECO mode might.

Yes, I've seen my ScanGauge doing that before. You can set fuel cut to different numbers in the options mode that may help with that.
I still can't get an answer I believe about pre "eco" Liberties. I think we have it, but I'm 97 percent sure, not 100.
Also, I'm driving, "blind" right now which in layman's terms is driving without my ScanGauge hooked up, I have my Progressive SnapShot in the OBD2 port right now so I can't see what's going on right now with my questions.
I'm also curious what's the most economical way to accelerate back up to speed when coming out of DFCO.

I was gonna say, N won't really do anything. Atleast in gear the engine will spin because the Jeep is moving.

That said, I'll go through my manual and see what I can find out about the ECO mode. I probably won't have time to do that until tomorrow night though. I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, then have a 2-3 page paper that's due at midnight(I haven't started yet :banghead: ) and a final tomorrow morning(still have to study for that too :banghead: ).

Beat me to it.
That's pretty cool, Lauren. I've seen people use those with 2 Scangauges.

I'd appreciate it. Wouldn't be surprised if it's nothing new to me, but I'd love to learn more about it.
