Ok, install was a bit more challenging. The shock was about 1/2 inch taller than stock. The front sits around 4 inches now. But get this the rattle is still there! :5SHOTS: :dead: the rattle now is only on the driver side. It sounds a bit more tinney. That being said, I finished up the install about 20 minutes ago and need to go into work tomorrow With some sleep.

I only drove it for a slow mile.

Is their any fix for the abs randomly kicking on? I'll eventually do the inline fuse switch, I know the abs topic is on here some where and read it a while back.

Bump steer is even worse, from the slow mile I drove it.

I'll upload pictures early tomorrow morning for y'all.

I'll get the correct measurement tomorrow morning or after work.

Those should fit pleasantly in there though. I'm sure the ride would be much better too haha. Just know that that spacer lift is best on temporarily. You're going to want to start saving yesterday for a full suspension lift because your springs have 10,000mi lift...tops...

I've got more issues then a full suspension lift. Control arms, new ball joints, tie rod boot, steering dampers, if they even make larger knuckles, and by the time all of that's fixed, my yokes' will need to be replaced.

I don't have the time or money to put into all of this. I thought it was going to be a install and be done job.... I'd be the exact same on a full suspension lift I'd assume.

Shocks do not give lift, only springs or the spacers do
With those spacers you should not be having 4 inches of lift
More pictures, get an alignment as soon as possible
ABS is due to being out of whack on the alignment I'd bet

Should of started with a full spring lift in the beginning
there isn't any "larger knuckles"
There isn't any steering dampners

Pictures are up.

so after driving it longer today, something on the driver side sounds loose... even though everything was tightened down the tightest my impact wrench could do.

bump steer is slightly less noticeable, a couple of the bumps I go over every day, if I wasn't holding the wheel id for sure crash.

and I know we have all discussed the bump steer issue and how KK's handle.

the front seemed to settle a bit more when I drove this morning. the fronts 22 1/4 inches. rear is still the same.

Shocks help control the springs, so no lift from them.

Get an alignment asap. It'll help the ABS from kicking in. It won't eliminate it, but it will help. When it does kick in, it barely does anything. That'll also drop the front and help the angles of everything. The alignment will also help the bump steer.

When I first put my 3.5" lift in I sat over 4" of lift. Drove to the tire shop for tires, then to the alignment shop. It was skating all over the place. After the alignment I sat just over 3.5". A week or 2 later, I went back since it settled in to 3.5" and fixed my camber issues and I was good to go.

Some one has to live close by to go check it out and see whats going on.
Now new shocks which with the Daystar will weaken quickly, then when he finally gives up and buys new springs for the front it'll need new shocks as well again
Thats why its cheaper to do it right the first time

I'm out of ideas here with the rattling issue. had no issue before lift. no issue after spacers were put in the first time. 2nd time installed sway bar bushings and fixed struts, rattling appeared then. and now only the driver side has the rattling.

looks like another weekend project! :banghead:

the ride seems smoother, except when I went over a speed bump, sounded like a lower frequency rattle. not really worried about that at the moment. the high pitch rattle is first on the list then the control arms and ball joints.

As Tom said, maybe one of us can help you out this weekend. Where are you located in PA?

Shocks don't hold up the Jeep, so no lift from them. Shocks help moderate the bounce of the springs, keeping your tires on the pavement.

A good alignment will help a lot.

Half an hour from valley forge.

Ogh, and the front was aligned about 2 or so weeks ago. Not sure if every one has read this whole topic From start. I know that tom, NAMoulton1, and bmxer524 have been on this topic since it was posted.

You're super close to Jeepin' By Al's! He's up in Hatfield just off of PA 309. You could get a full spring lift kit without paying for shipping.

My Daystar had no issues like this at all...except learning that I have to use a pry bar to press the ball join tin the knuckle as I undo the nut (thought I needed new UCAs haha).

I'm only just over 300mi (5hr away) away...which is 3 tanks of gas there and back hahaha...I need to regear...

I Googled Valley Forge and that's an hour and a half away from where I am in New Jersey.

 before my lift highway was around 21 mpg. Highway with the lift now is around 19. City is 12 mpg. That was before the lift, and I'm getting very close to the same mileage with the lift. Theres days when ill get 8 due to heavy acceleration. I'm very happy if I can get a 200 mile tank. Driving south on 81 is I believe 75 mph, that's the only way I get 21 mpg. I definitely do not want to touch my differential. I'm not scared or anything but if something goes wrong, the car will just sit in the driveway until I find time to get it fixed.

Not sure if this will be of any help but I have the same lift kit and have had no problems at all... here's a matching drivers side pic..
ImageImage
I'm not going to defend a spacer lift (not my brightest moment when I bought it), but I have never had any problems. But eventually will upgrade as everyone else has said.
Hope you get this all sorted out! Best of luck to you.

   THE FIRST SKYJACKER SPACER KK IVE SEEN ON HERE!

You never had rattling?

I had gotten their kkn25 kit that came with the spacers, sway bar bushings, and strut plate. I'm just wondering if the rattling is coming from the strut plate. The hole on the strut plate is a lot larger then the shocks rod that bolts to the strut plate. I know for a fact the shock is tightened down All the way because there is no more thread left on the shock. I'll give the OEM strut plate a shot if no one else can come up with a reason why its still rattling.

How many miles were on your kk before the lift? How is it doing now?

Aren't the shocks dead yet? Mine when I took them out had completely different compression speeds and expansion speeds. Not minute, but at least by a whole second slower or faster.
