Got my JBA lift kit in and got the right side put in. Had difficulty with getting the strut in. Pulled the UCA and the brake caliper but could not get the LCA down enough for everything to line up. Finally got it in by running the preload nuts off the spring and compressing the shock with a long pry bar and getting into place. Then pryed the LCA down to restart the preload nuts. I did not unbolt the sway bar, was that my problem?

How I did it was:

install the top end of the coil-over shock assembly with the 4 nuts in the engine bay.

install the clevis fork on the lca, but leave the fork tipped outwards towards yourself

seat the shock body into the top of the clevis fork

wrap an HD ratcheting strap to the fork and to something under the vehicle (other susp. component, x-memb, skidplate) and ratchet the fork and shock body into the vertical position

etc.

Even with the sway disconnected, it would still be tough to get enough room to do it without the strap (or a big friend).

cheers

With everything together there isn't enough room really so just easier to remove clevis, remove spring etc, align everything up then in place and reinstall coil over the shock, screw down on the clevis etc. Much easier and faster than fighting it I think.

Can't wait to put a set of those JBA coilovers in mine. Great Job!
