Ok, so most of my parts are here. Bumper, winch, top plates, clevis rings, and 790 springs. Just waiting on my ironman struts. Can anyone tell me specifically what is wrong with rough country rear lift. So far I have had no issues with the rear at all, however I am quite sure I will be changing it out soon after I finish the front rebuild. Also I do tow a 7 x12 open trailer with 3 ATV's . That being said when I do rebuild I was thinking JBA 4" springs with ironman shocks. Does this sound as it will be sufficient?

If you want it sitting a rake then 4 inch would work but I wouldn't use them . I'm running the JBA 4 inch but my front is also over 4 inches of lift.
If you're towing a lot I'd go a different route , I tow as well and using Sensatrac Loadleveler shocks, does not squat when I have either of my trailers on
Whats wrong with the Rough Country rear? Cheap

Cheap, agreed. And gets quite a bit of squat with trailer. What springs/isolator combo would you recommend for a level setup and still tow about 2500lb trailer. I will look into those shocks.

All parts for front suspension are here and will be installed this weekend. Bumper and winch go on next weekend. As for the rear 947's or 948's ? Not planning on heavy rear bumper. So thinking 947's with those Monroe sensatrac load leveler shocks (2500lb trailer) Do I order for 99-04 Dakota to get propper length? Can't wait to get this stuff installed.

Ok, front suspension is installed but major issues. Too high 23 3/4 from center of wheel hub to fender and JBA arms are hitting strut. Going to pull apart and remove 3/8 clevis spacer and hopefully that will be enough to correct issue.

Before you do all of that
Did you tighten the UCAs with full weigh on them ?
If not then the bushings are bound up and holding the front up.
Also what all did you add ? If 3/8 inch clevis and 1/4 inch top plate , you're fine we do all of them that way and when done right they settle in to about 22.5-22/75 after alignment etc

UCA's where installed a year ago, did not loosen to do this work. I have OME 790's , 1/4 top plate , 3/8 clevis , Ironman strut. Bumper goes on this weekend so no extra weight on front yet. I will try loosening UCA bolts and bounce it around to see what happens. Do you really think it could be that simple. ......I hope so, but if need be can remove clevis spacers till new bumper weight settles front a bit and then put them back in 6 months or so.

As Tom said the alignment makes a difference also, mine was way high till I drove it and got it aligned.

I will loosen up the UCA's and then re torque with it on the ground to see what that does. I didn't want to get it aligned till I get the weight of the bumper and winch on it, but guess I may have to. The UCA to strut contact is pretty harsh.

If you installed them a year ago then most likely they have turned the bushings by now, always tighten anything with bushings with full weight on the ground

Alright, loosened UCA bolts and jacked it up and lowered it very quickly about 10 times then read torqued UCA bolts. End result still a slight contact with strut on passenger side only but nowhere near as bad. Makes pretty good cluncking sound hitting bumps.Sitting at 23 1/4 both sides. Probably going to have to pull those clevis spacers. Very confused why this has worked for so many but mine seems too high.

I was up in that range on used 790's, 3/8" clevis and 1/4" top plate, Tom sent me to the alignment shop and came back around 22 3/4". I'd try that before I started ripping stuff out.

Great idea, I'm gonna put the bumper and winch on Saturday then get it alligned. It is a lot better than yesterday already just by taking care of the UCA's

Most times it will come down 1/2 to 3/4 inch when aligned . Of course the 790s will take longer to break in than 927s but it should end up about 22.5, still may have slight contact on certain bumps.
I could drive for miles in mine and no noise what so ever but one place in the road 5 miles from home everytime it would hit

Got the bumper on and alignment done, still have very slight control arm contact at full drop over big bumps. Sitting at 22 3/4 drivers side and 23 passenger side. Rear suspension work starts next weekend, once it is done and the front has had a week to break in a little if I still have contact I will replace 3/8 clevis spacers with 1/4 spacers. My hunting roads are very rough and i will not be satisfied with any contact at all. Here are a few pics, missing fog lights as ARB sent Toyota housings in the box instead of liberty housings. Also need to add some sort of anchor for tow hook. Maybe a swivel.

My 790s took almost 2 months to start breaking in and settling down that was even after a couple of weekends of twisting it up really good.

Looks good though and super clean

Thank you, I may just drop to 1/4 spacers for now then 6 months down the road put the 3/8 back in. Seems to be a logical solution.

Raising the rear will put a little more weight on the front also.
