I've had two kj. Hated them both. Not Becuase of comfort or lack of offroad ability but Becuase of reliability.

A used kj is better than any mall crawler tj.

I have three KJs. No problems with any of them. Never left me stranded.

Given I have 196k kms (~115k miles), it's not bad. There is always something to fix, but it hasn't left me stranded either. Preventative maintenance and being able to fix pretty much anything, or willing to learn how, is a big help.

If I had to say anything, it's probably the lack of creature comforts in the Sport model. I used to have an optioned out Outback, so I was a bit spoiled. I miss heated seats, sunroof and cruise the most. Not like I can't put in the seats or cruise, just can't find the time in between everything else.

The off road abilities of a mildly modded Liberty continue to impress me.

Over 10 years of ownership, over 214,000 miles, takes me everywhere I need to go , never let me down.
Hits the rev limiter at least 3-4 times a week , she loves it when i jump on her !

I admit that I was a KJ hater, I've had XJ's (still have a 2000) 04 TJ which I just buried a month ago, an 11 KK which is my wife's and won't see more than a gravel road and now an 06 KJ to replace the TJ. Will probably put a small lift on the KJ because my daughter won't drive it at stock height and may tackle some trails with it just to play but that's the purpose of the XJ. As a DD, soooo much better than my XJ but one of these days, I will pry my daughter out of my XJ and will get it back and be happy I did.
