Okay so I called the local parts store after I discovered that I broke a tank strap and they a) don't have any in inventory, anywhere and b) they are a 100 dollars.

So I will be making 1/8" or 3/16" gas tank straps in the very near future. Who wants some?

Stainless or aluminum, or even steel I don't care.

I could make 15 3/16" straps for a 100 bucks.

100 dollars for a strap... That's rediculous.

I made some for a guy before. Not worth the 100 bucks a pop. Took maybe 30 mins to get it all bent up and mounted. Works like a charm. We used 3/16 and painted them with some paint the Coast Guard uses for hulls. All while on duty, and didn't cost us a dime.

I would if i still had that bad booty paint. I painted a metal "treasure chest" and sunk it a while in the USCG, my buddy found it while scuba diving. Had a little rust but nothing like i expected. That paint is bad.

I am thinking of going with stainless. Their is a enough stainless strapping at the shop in the "off cut" section that I can pay by weight. Then I may jut heat shrink or something for the rubber insulation a I dunno.
